Was everyone else playing in sustained 28 mph wind in round 2? I’ve never seen that before. Legitimately couldn’t hit the green or the fairway for that matter. It was actually pretty sweet. Except for the whole ruining my tournament thing.
I’m teeing it up in R2 later today but that sounds accurate, settings are for Very High winds. I’m sure there is some tolerance built into the game for speed like with wind direction (so like if we select West wind, it may be variable from SW to NW, but will always be a westerly direction)
I’m waiting for them to make Hurricane winds available so we can play in 50+ just to see what happens
Seems like it usually sits in the 22-24 zone for me. 28 was wild. Especially with all the elevation change. Just curious if it was bad luck or something about the course. I’m into it though.
yeah I actually don’t know if the course plot affects wind speeds, like if a hole is more open with less trees, or more elevation. There are a few pretty experienced course designers on here who may be able to weigh in. But part of me thinks the game is held together with duct tape and spaghetti code so who knows
Yes. I had a 122 yard shot dead into 28 mph, about 7 feet downhill. I hit an 8-iron and was 10 yards short.
So I just played round 2, I didn’t see 28 at all, like low 20s at most. Confirmed it was on V High winds. If I had to guess there is a range for each speed and a randomizer, you may have just gotten a shitty draw
What hole?

Whatever it takes to get me back in the C-Suite next season.
Mine hovered at 26-28, ain’t fair Pawl!
I think it was the 10th
I thought it was going to be the double in round 1 that got me. Turns out it was the 12 pars and 1 bogey in round 2 that really did me in.
Sounds like a great round to me.
God, I could play that 15th hole all day. Reachable downhill 600 yard par 5 with 60 yards of run up to the flag. With a fairway landing slot to aim for to boot!
Is 42 putts good?
You could just DQ like me. Had to pick up on a hole in round 1, so I won’t be posting a score this week for like the first time since season 5.
@Mctrees02 2
@wseitz26 0
as @Jeff_M mentioned, there is a luck of the draw with wind. HB never came out and said it, but I’ve seen enough guis I trust say they’re seeing a greater difference in wind speeds in society tournaments now. The gui who sets up TGCT plat said he had a quite a few players on stream showing a fully maxed wind gauge (28-30mph) in a tourney recently while others who played at different days/times were barely half full.
Case in point, I had one hole with a 13mph wind in R2 Otherwise I’m getting 18-21mph the rest of the round. 13 is the lowest I’ve ever seen on very high winds. Don’t worry I still wont take advantage of it as my putting stroke is currently on a 20* angle and I missed 4 putts inside 8’ in the first round.
Now in R3 and I’m getting 12mph on medium winds. So I got the best of VH winds and the worst of medium winds. Welcome to the show!
Four holes left and I potentially had my first Young Hitters win in sights. Hit a good drive on 15 but it stops on the side of the big fairway slope so I’ve got a nasty left to right lie with the wind blowing the same direction. I aim 40-50y left of the green content to come up a bit short and maybe run on. It doesnt matter…approach takes off dead right, hits the big mound short right of the green and kicks dead right into the water.
Since HB can’t properly implement a lateral hazard…I’m now hitting my 4th from the same shot. I aim even further left…same result. Now hitting 6. Aim even further left and this time it stays on line, lands left of the green and I get up and down for a snowman. A par would’ve had me in the lead by a shot.
What a way to start your day…time to go to work!
When does the EA game get released?
Was supposed to release in the spring this year but EA delayed it back in November, didn’t give a specific date
