Trying to finalize some scheduling snafus on my end, I would definitely be down for a round Friday. I’ll be coming down from the QC at some point.
Hahaha, that’s funny. I think there were just 300 in the whole high school, so it is not surprising that you didn’t run into many PCS kids. For such a small school, though, we had a couple of pretty good sports programs - golf and basketball in particular.
Booked lodging as well - thoughts on a Friday afternoon round?
I’m probably in for a Friday PM practice round. Perhaps @kevjones could throw us a bone and include a column on the google doc for whether anyone is interested in the Friday round. That way we could organize on a separate thread and not clog up this one.
No such thing. Goal is to post in this thread over and over again drawing attention to event.
@phegs32 is the keeper of the Google Sheet so he’ll have to add the column for Friday golf.
As far as locations go, there are probably a few options:
- Practice round at Lick Creek
- A local gem, Metamora Fields
- My home course in Pekin (Sunset Hills GC) which has a somewhat interesting layout on the older 9 holes, a razor thin maintenance budget but very chill neighborhood course vibes for a casual game
adds Friday Practice Round column
Thanks for your payment. I have recorded it on the GS. I have also added a “Friday PR” column to make arrangements with interested parties.
I am up for whatever on Friday. I was just thinking a practice round at Lick Creek, so as not to utterly embarrass myself on Saturday.
Bladey Eighty challenge round?
Just scheduled my first ever lesson for next week, so you can pencil me on the NIT spot.
If anyone is coming through Chicago happy to do a Friday round in the western burbs
I might be back in STL when this goes down…
3 hour drive…
@serwin we should try to make this happen. (says the guy without an infant at home)
I could maybe swing 1 day… lemme look into it… I’ve been to Pekin a hadful of times… it’s about a 3 hour drive.
Ah, I see the World’s Greatest Sundial drew in yet another awestruck observer, right?
LOL no I used to play competitive paintball and there is a field there.
But that sun dial. You’ve peaked my interest
Fun fact: that paintball park used to be a driving range
I’m coming from Mt. Prospect and would be down to play Friday in the morning before heading down to Peoria after.
Cool. Happy to host at my club. On me.
Sounds great. We can coordinate as we get closer. I’ve got summers off work and can be at the course any time that morning.
