Highly recommend Blue Duck. It was sooooo good.
+1 for Blue Duck. My favorite food spot in the downtown area.
Co-worker has been raving about Blue Duck recently so that’s top of my to-try list in town. Same guy who put me on to Steak n Fries, Rumbergers, and Chef Moussa, so I’m putting a lot of weight in his word.
In the process of booking myself lessons soon’ish so I embarrass myself less than I would if we were playing today…
Still sitting on a Scrooge McDuckian amount of Marriott points - should I do the Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette or the Courtyard Peoria Downtown?
They are literally right next to one another. The Courtyard is a newer construction while the Pere Marquette is an old historic hotel that’s been renovated a few times.
One of those properties was the scene of the famous “cocaine circus” mentioned by MJ during The Last Dance documentary during a trip to Peoria for a preseason game in the mid 1980s. I’ll let you guess which one that is.
Wow - easy sell.
Logo voting will close on Sunday night!
As of this morning, Icarito’s Pine has opened up a large gap on the other logos. Can it hold them off for another 5 days??
The winner with 51% of the vote is: ICARITO’S PINE!
The logo is of course a reference to the nefarious pine tree on the left side of #14 at Madison GC that dashed our hopes for the Strapped boys to finally hit the slippery mega bonus. Under the pine is the Callaway ball hit by @MerchCzar’s driver which inexplicably had an experimental steel shaft in it.
“You couldn’t sit on that tee and hit it in that bush if you tried. It just happened. ” @Randy
We’ll all get our chance to tackle Icarito’s Pine during Sunday’s Scotch Foursomes session. A format which @djpie has referred to today as the absolute best in golf (and he’s right).
Surrounding the pine is a blue background representative of the Illinois River which runs along both Peoria (Madison GC) and Pekin (Lick Creek GC). No, the river isn’t actually blue. It’s more of a muddy brown mixed with some factory waste and a whole hell of a lot of Asian carp. The border of the crest is Caterpillar yellow and black. Because of course it is.
Studious eyes have said that it may resemble a logo from a well renowned golf course that also features a lone pine. Honestly, who could say?
Is there a legal limit on merch items one can buy? Asking for a friend of course
Down to our next order of business, which is our merch options. In order to get the event specific Levelwear site like March Mudness used, we need to ensure that we move at least $2000 of gear.
After seeing how well the site worked for @TeddyPargame this is the route we would definitely prefer to go as it makes everything much easier for the participants and for us as organizers.
We all know how good the Levelwear stuff is from the popular items in the NLU pro shop, the Icarito’s Pine logo will be fully embroidered on the merch and each order will be drop shipped directly to us in Peoria and individually packaged for each player to hand out upon arrival. I’m showcasing the legendary Levelwear tech hoodie with the embroidered March Mudness logo as an example of what we can expect (aka: high quality shit).
We’re currently up to 50 players which would average $40 in merch orders per player. We dropped down the entry fee in anticipation of having access to the Levelwear ordering site as we wanted everybody to be able to order exactly what they wanted.
Enough rambling, I’ll be posting a poll below to gauge interest in the merch orders so I can then give @Double_Bogey_Dave and @sundaybag our decision on using Levelwear.
- Listen, ferr sure.
- Nah, dawg.

setwilli regrets not getting the March Mudness gear and would like to make things whole again with this event.
We are efforting to get merch proceeds to go to the impacted charity. No promises, but hope that will be a factor for this (and drive more merch sales).
I’m not even going to this event and I’m buying a hat at least… That logo is too good.
We certainly like that!
I’m in for $150 of merch at least. The only thing I ask is that we have color options that are not black.
I should wear more black because they say it’s slimming but I still don’t.
Doubt we could get the scale but I would buy the crap out of a repeating print shirt with that logo
@sundaybag said they were going to test the limits of the Levelwear design capabilities for the Olympic Prolific merch, so let’s not rule anything out yet!
Yes, but I refuse to say Listen, fer sure.
How big of a logo are we thinking? I’m partial to something on the smaller side.
Size of the logo would most likely vary depending on the item it’s going on, we’ll make sure to have a nice variety.
I’ll know for sure once I get in the lab with @sundaybag but I envision small logos on hats, polos, quarter zips. Perhaps some larger logos on t-shirts, lightweight hoodies, etc.
