Edit: honestly though, if anybody is interested in bidding on this, let me know. Not playing BCC when I was working there is number 1 regret, especially now that I’ve played more L&M courses.
Will do!
Personally I would skip Kellogg and play almost literally anywhere else. Just my 2 cents though
Might swap it out in favor of Metamora Fields. I used to live down the block from Kellogg so there’s a lot of nostalgia there for me. I’m sure Fields is 1000% nicer.
Thanks for the heads up on this.
Friendly bump reminder! Auction closes tonight at 9 pm CST!!
Locals,
If you had to pick between Weaver Ridge or Coyote Creek which would you rather play?
Weaver ridge circa 2012
Coyote
Also haven’t played weaver since like 2012 so take that however you want
I haven’t played Weaver in 12+ years either but if given the choice I’d probably pick Coyote 8 out of 10 times.
When are you making your trip down here?
June 21-23
Don’t know if it fits in your agenda, but would be happy to have you out to Pekin CC.
I haven’t finished planning the trip fully yet but if there’s time I’ll reach out. The invite is appreciated!
PCC gui, eh? That place is still operational? Rumors around town haven’t been promising.
Coyote all day long.
So far we continue to survive. lol. Posted some updates in the private club thread. Wanna join?
I just ran across your post regarding the history of the club since the current course was built in the 60’s, many years after the club being founded.
If my townie memory serves me correctly, this is actually the second version of PCC with the first being on what is the current campus of Pekin Community High School. Sam Snead played there in a charity match and almost broke the course record, unless I’ve been lied to by the locals over the years.
Follow up on this, played Lick yesterday.
Bunkers were in excellent shape, honestly the only course I’ve played with bunkers that nice was Deere Run. The greens were slick but not in the best shape. I’m not an agronomist or groundskeeper but there were some brown spots and with how much rain we’ve gotten, it seems like it was just dead. I’m not sure on when they aerated but they also weren’t totally back from that. A few putts that were super bumpy and you could still see the aeration holes on almost all the greens.
Overall still an excellent course and would play again for $28 walking.
Does 6 still suck?
