Once again ringing the “Parkview is second best public course in the area” bell. I only played the front today, and I will say the front is better than the back IMO, but man it’s just an enjoyable place to play.
Good read about Lick Creek - I didn’t realize they were taking away some bunkers in addition to redoing them.
I’ve been kicking around an idea in my head for a while and I think I’ve got it formulated enough to share it here. I would like to propose a @ConfluenceGC vs. @SecondCityGC Ryder Cup style event this fall at Madison and Lick Creek. Here’s the proposed format:
Morning Session:
- Madison Golf Course: Front 9 modified foursomes, back 9 four ball.
Quick Lunch
Afternoon Session:
- Lick Creek: Singles matches.
Of course, copies amounts of Busch Light throughout.
Looking at my schedule, these would be the weekends that would work:
- September 7-8
- September 14-15
- October 5-6
- October 12-13
- October 19-20
Thoughts? Interest? Availability?
Fuck yes.
Way in on all this, will gladly help with any planning/hosting as well.
Love this! I can do any of those dates except October 19-20
Interested in this primarily to see where @BabblingBrooksKoepka’s TRUE ALLEGIANCE FEALTY lies.
Way, way, WAY in on this
I am so down and can be a swing man to make even teams. And I will certainly be partying with the winners regardless of what team I play for ![]()
Edit: 10/5 and 10/19 best for me
Love this idea.
September 14-15 best for me
Can’t we host this event at Canyata…?
Is this a bit I’m not getting? Cause I’m positive that is Newman in that picture.
Look, I’m not saying I want somebody to plan an event at Canyata, but I’d definitely do an event at Canyata.
There was talk about me becoming the Confluence Treasurer, let me check with @Jrembold and see if we have this in the coffers.

Money is just a social construct/figment of our imagination anyway…
Don’t get me started on “accounting principles” smh
Unrelated, Confluence Quarterly Dues are now going up 400%
(we don’t have dues)
All you how to do is call anymore. And be able to pay of course.
Personally i think it is overrated. I’m glad i did it, in the sense there was one other foursome on the course that day and we played it four times, but otherwise it was a fine golf course, great conditioning. But not top 100.
Mea culpa and not a bit. I thought that was from the episode at Madison based on the clip where Ben talks about it was after the “Icarito” moment:
Either way an iconic shot
Edit:
Edited it out of original post but will leave it here.
Well I was definitely wrong, too.
