Yes!
First of all, what media outlets are you representing @Nickygifts and @Ultra-Kiger ?
I freelance this is for my substack
Early night cap on Mondays.
Let it rip tomorrow and feature @TB3Golf’s auction contributions with some questions.
Obscure Sports Quarterly…iykyk
Sounds like cool work.
1.) Alice In Chains- unplugged. I’ve been on record multiple times saying if I could see any unplugged show live, it would be this one. Stand by that take.
2.) Talking Heads, stop making sense. If could go back in time and see any concert with my Mom, I think this is the one I would pick. Bowie would be close 2nd.
3.) Too many options popping into my head. Neil Young Live at Masey hall with my Dad, or Jimmy Hendrix at any point with my Dad too. MGMT back when Oracular Spectacular was just coming out. OutKast around Stankonia… this is kind of a Tron going down the leaderboard situation here. I hope I haven’t disappointed you with this answer.
Well, @Ultra-Kiger from Obscure Sports Quarterly,
While @bignanski raises some good points about my pizza order being relatively predictable, I am not as narrow minded as he makes me out to be. I just know what I like.
Pepperoni and Green Pepper is my go to, and the delightful Mrs. Status will share that combo with me.
And as far as pubs or places to hang out in London back in the day,
Quiet pub with good vibes and close proximity to where i was: Zetland Arms. Fish and with cheesy chips and regular peas and a pint of whatever I could get for cheap. We also used to go there and play cribbage using cards and our Nokia brick phones to keep score
Best bang for your : student union pub, I could get cheap Stella there and stretch my money. Did the people who worked there judge me for it? Sure. I didn’t care.
Club/bar division: KoKo - an old theatre converted into a bar/music venue. That place was incredibly fun.
Appreciate your time and words sir. If I may:
Agreed Zetland Arms rocked
Call me cheap but the Union Bar with how old Imperial College is in a cool part of town was awesome
Never went to KoKo (I don’t think) we were a Tiger Tiger crowd
But sincerely it’s still wild meeting you in 2011 to then meet in a completely different setting all these years later. That’s the power of the Ope
PS: sorry again @midwestgolfbum for screaming in your ear
@Battisstatus DuffGuyPat, Independent Tribune Daily Ledger. Do you have time for one or two more questions this evening? Or do you have a representative who could respond?
Happy to take the time for the readers of the Independence Daily Ledger.
It’s a real “I did my own research” crowd over there.
I’ve been waiting to speak with people at the STMBRTHR Press but they haven’t called or inquired…
-
Surprise! The Ope 2026 includes a cookout/barbecue element but @chefcycle is unavailable! What are you bringing to the table/Lawsonia Convent?
-
Which Ope participant would you go to a concert with and what band is playing?
First of all, it’s STMBRTHR PRSS
I didn’t mean to offend the readers/followeres. Simply an embarrassing mistake
It’s called being a free thinker
I want to thank everyone here (and especially @Battisstatus) for keeping me occupied today. Woke up at 1am in Bozeman for my 5am flight (tried to go back to sleep til 3 with no luck). Then sat on the tarmack for 3 hours (directly after boarding the pilot told us we were delayed, instead of letting us sit in the airport). Then survived an awful busy layover at DIA (on top of some other news that had me pretty freaked out, but that can be saved for the Politics thread).
Home now with my pups and couldn’t be more excited for the Ope in a few short months. Bring it on
Bringing homemade cookies- the chocolate chip cookie recipe from my mom’s old cookie book, but I’m subbing peanuts for the chocolate chips.
I would also bring Mrs. Status’ snack mix. Iykyk.
There are too many good people I could pick for this so I am going to flip the question and say I would bring the concert to the Lawsonia parking lot.
Would have whatever band we could get to come and play on a budget. Outside people would be welcome to join with the purchase of a ticket which would go toward the Ope charitable cause.
