Ope 4 - July 11th and 12th, 2025 (Raffle sheet in post 3800)

Never had the pleasure.

In that vein, attn. haters/losers - we can’t be bringing small market or micro brand root beers into this discussion. It’s intellectually dishonest at best. If you’ll excuse me I’m going to pick up a Barq’s on the way home from picking up kid #3. In a can, of course.

Appreciate being here, thank you for having me. The pleasure is truly all on this side of the table, I have respected the Ope Journal for a very long time. The publication is vital to not only bringing The Ope to publication, but also entertaining us through these cruel, dark winters.

Anywho.

1.) My favorite supper club event, excluding the Ope. Probably have to run down the leaderboard here. Are we excluding The Burban? The longest running TSC event that predates all Roost-organizing? The event that many, many smart people are saying inspired The Ope? Since, I organize it, let’s exclude it.

The Old Fashioned. Let me tell you, the first major was a success. Are we concerned about leadership here? Yeah, a little bit. Ambitious jump to 36 holes for 2025. I heard from many, many good people that the pace was a tough scene. Great potential.

The Irish Coffee, Battis, this event wins best named event, hands down. It’s going to be cold, you need the Irish Coffee. @TTrentC and I had a battle going on The Irish. The Irish Coffee is an absolute glue guy of an event that you love having as a butt-end of your loaf of bread.

No Reservations Taken, however, is the Supper Club event that I want leading my team (after the Ope and Burban). Strong leadership, this event is turning on a nickel in 2025 after those cowards at the USGA won’t let us play Erin Hills before the USWO. How does one react after getting slugged in the face like that? You take the event down to the best public nine-hole course in the midwest. It’s like watching a genuis at work here.

2.) My favorite brand of all-around golf apparel is probably Puma. Their pants are my everyday pants, very underrated. Their shorts are also great if you can get the correct in-seams. I have many Puma socks as well. Their basic polos are solid as well, decent enough for a $30 polo. Listen, would I rather drape myself in Lulu and Greyson. Yeah, but let’s be honest here, I’m closer to all All In Motion than all Lulu.

3.) Jesus, making me pick children here Batty. Making assumptions here that this cheese burger is pretty plain Jane: lettuce, american, tomato. Also, that the brats aren’t of different flavors. Out of 10 eatings give me brat 8 times, cheeseburger 2 times.

Appreciate what you do on the internet. Looking forward to reconnecting in July.

Absolutely, you should be. I heard last year leadership hit into a public group and almost got in a fight.

Appreciate your kind words on the Irish Coffee, that first one in the cold was special

I didn’t want to air something personal like that about the leadership, but some very, very observant people told me the same thing.

So many ways to go with “best mascot in college sports”, except any mascot that is an actual live mammal (that’s right ND).

Best name? UC - Santa Cruz Banana Slugs
Best actual costume mascot? Otto the Orange
Best all around? I’ve always respected the Oregon Duck’s body of work.

The media would like to thank the participants of the most recent media day.

Incredible and thoughtful responses from the players.

@PTM do you think the media should continue its work or should we shut down for the evening?

You can only have one set of toppings on a pizza the rest of your life, what are you picking?

Also from our time in London what was your favorite pub / bar / watering hole?

Bold of you to assume he likes more than one set of toppings

(I can’t help it Batty I’m sorry)
