Some people are saying their best round ever or at least of ‘21 was the Olympic Prolific replay round at Chambers last year. @Springdog74 @Phillip360 @MTS12 @Tron
This is true. Pure bliss.
I feel like there’s some 36 Chambers Wu related merch/logo to be made but I have no talent
Count me as part of that sum, what a day into night
Add me as plus one…
Damnit I need to make this happen. Mostly because I miss my little brother @MrVinegar206
If we’re doing that again I’m in
Very interested in this as well
Tee times at Chambers on Friday will likely span from 9:00-1:00ish. Most will likely not see Golden Hour during their round. Most will have to see it after.
To relive the 2021 vibes, you’re likely gonna have to schedule your own round at Chambers Thursday evening or Sunday evening, or a 9 holer Saturday evening after the round, lunch and awards, and drive on Saturday at GM
As I said, cause Chambers is walking only, a shotgun doesn’t make any sense to try and do, so tee times are the easiest way forward even though they could split us up off 1 and 10. But that doesn’t make much business sense in this case
Is this not an option for Friday? 96 people would be 4 hours of tee times at 10 minute gaps and $292 each. Almost everyone could get in a replay round.
The people teeing off at 9am could probably get a replay round in if they booked their 2nd tee time in advance. The people teeing off at 1pm could not, they won’t finish their 18 until around 6pm.
I mean, 93 signed up right now and we have to assume, what, a 20-40% attrition between now and when it’s time to book flights. It’s probably not super realistic.
I was thinking you could tee off earlier with a full course. Sunrise is 6:51 sunset is 7:19.
If you get everyone off 7-11a, then the last group is getting done at 3-3:30p and could go off again. Last couple groups may not get all 18 in the second time around, would need some good pace from everyone.
Even at 80 it’s $350 each and then the replay becomes more probable. With a little NLU backing you can for sure get to 80 for this.
This ain’t happening at Chambers. ![]()
Another option could be you play a practice round at sunrise, and then request one of the last tee times that day for the event. Then you could get 36 in at Chambers?
Last year this was a BIG issue. Especially with a good number taking caddies out, “the process” can become a pretty big issue. 5:30 would not be unheard of for a round with NIT spots on the line.
Capping it at 88 cause that’s 22 groups for the shotgun at GM and probably don’t want to go more than that.
I believe Chambers usually has 12 minute intervals.
And don’t want to lock people into an extra $100 when nothing is guaranteed.
This is very much an option, too. Like last year, I’ll throw up a “tee time preference” sheet and you can request a late time… Just know those are gonna be tired legs for the counting round haha
Shoutout to @rabsie for speeding the slow group up!
POST 140 UPDATE
Alright you sickos.
-
The dates of September 16th and 17th are locked in.
-
I have 88 spots saved at the moment.
-
The 16th will be at Chambers.
– The contract is signed.
– As of right now, tee times start at 9:00 and run until 1:12, but their tee sheet/spacings might change. All the tee times are 12 minutes apart. Some might become 10 minutes.
– It’s $179 + taxes. Total = $205.85. The online payment portal is up already!
– If you’re a member (@jasonnutter), call the shop and pay thru them. I was told that they’d still acknowledge your member rate. -
The 17th will be at Gold Mountain (Olympic).
– It will be a shotgun.
– The starting time and exact cost is TBD. I am in correspondence with the GM and he needs to get final word from the Super on the appropriate start time. Once he gets that, he is sending the contract. The Super is out until January 3rd.
– The starting time will be in the morning hours though. (My guess is around 8, 8:30, or 9)
– The price will include the round and a catered lunch inside the clubhouse -
I will have a Google Sheet with player details (just like last year) including GHIN #, current handicap to roughly start outlining flights, starting time/pairing requests for the Chambers round (I am going to do pairings/starting hole based on flight and position for the GM round), and caddie request for Chambers coming soon. Probably will release that whenever the GM contract is signed.
-
You can join the event/pay until August 18th. Plenty of time.
HOWEVER, if you’re a sicko, here’s the payment portal for the Chambers round. It mentions a caddie drop down… there is not one. It’s too far out for them to put that on the page. You can call and request a specific caddie much closer to the event, or you can add it to the player detail sheet whenever I can post that.
Also, yes, you have to put in a “Shipping Address.” It’s done thru their online store, so it thinks it’s a physical item. It’ll prompt you to “pick a shipping option.” All of them are $0 totals or you can just choose “pick up at location.” It doesn’t matter haha:
See ya in early January with the GM stuff.
Cheers,
Matt
