Slaps

Edit: although I suspect they have an alternative logo because this looks like a pain to embroider.

Bryan Bros Salina Golf Club? Thoughts?

Concept is cool, execution is poor. At small scale, you are going to lose all the water tower railing details and its going to look like a insert phallic object here.

Kiawah logo is terrible. It’s a tree on a golf course in Oklahoma for crying out loud.

Landmark was the WORST with this BS. Courses all over the country have this logo. And for some reason many of them still have it even if they no longer have any association with LM. Kiawah, you’re a top 5 public course in America, you can have your own logo. Hell, just do a silhouette of the tree on #3 in orange and call it a day.

Which one? The one that’s currently there or the one that was there and died?

Fair point :frowning:

Probably the wrong place for this but whatever. @BamaBearcat I played with Hermie’s caddy Matt this weekend in an invitational and he was absolutely delightful. Hard rooting for you guys this week in Napa.

Fun fact: Matt won 2 events the year they included caddies in the old ADT Skills Challenge.

I’ve never seen this logo before but here’s a photo I took in Hawaii about 15 years ago, it just needs to be mirror imaged:

Solheim episode of Office Hours is now on YouTube. Hope everyone enjoys. Biggest surprise for me while researching host site was how potentially hot it could be this week.

I also posted a short Extra Credit video to my twitter feed detailing a nice book a follower mailed me after the Walker Cup episode.

If you have a book on an interesting aspect of golf history, your home golf club or course, or an under appreciated golfer, send me a DM and we might feature it in an upcoming episode.

Any books sent to me will be forwarded to the USGA library if they don’t already have a copy.

Late to the party, but recently learned that the SFGC logo is actually made up of bones. Represents the famous duel that occurred at the site of the 7th green (1850s maybe?). Never noticed before

The duel was near the course, not quite on it.

Very cool - haven’t been able to read up on it until now.

SFGC’s historian is looking into the bones/logo story. He hadn’t heard that before.

Curious to hear what he has to say!

I have a book on Peter Toogood who was a very talented Tasmanian amateur with a very good father and brother. The highlight of the book was when he beat his father in the Australian Amateur event and the news headline was “Toogood too good for Toogood”.

Pretty niche book, but happy to send if you’re interested

The Ryder Cup episode of Office Hours is now available on YouTube. Thanks to Soly for joining on what I’m sure will be a universally adored piece of content.
