OATW Match Play - 2025 Second Round Underway?

I was to give @PersistentlyOverPar a huge shout out for working on the bracket over the weekend to get this up and running for everyone. I’ve continued to be involved in this because it was my baby originally and I have a lot of passion for Match Play specifically. That being said, running this from Michigan when I’m not participating has made it tougher on the motivational side of things. This will likely be my last year taking a front runner roll on making this event happen.

That all being said, I’m really looking forward to seeing how the double elimination bracket works out for us and seeing who comes out victorious this year!

If you haven’t yet paid, please do so when you get a moment. We don’t have a lot of missing payments, but it’s only fair to everyone if everyone who plays pays. All of this money goes toward creating the flag headcover, paying for the Finals for the competitors, and to the charity of choice of the winner for whatever is left over.

The match play bracket has officially begun.

I will add the completed bracket to the google sheet. The winners bracket is on the left with the losers bracket on the right. The loser of each match in the winners bracket will be inserted into the losers bracket on the right at the location matching their match number. For example Match 3 loser will be in the space labeled L3. If you have any questions, feel free to ask away.

We will attempt to meet the aggressive timeline to get us finished in time for the Roost Regional. Please do not wait for the deadlines to complete your matches. If your next match is determined, please feel free to get it set up as soon as you can.

We will be using 100% handicaps calculated the day of the match. The GHIN app does a great job of taking the work out of mathing it up.

So let’s get out there, golf your ball, and …

As much as I wanted to try to mix things up with pairings, minimizing travel just made more sense. Plus, how can you create a good rivalry without meeting every year.

@Gobrownies09 and I have an 8:12a at Ellsworth on 3/29. Two spots open if another match want to join us

If someone has to drop out, I can likely be a replacement since I’m pretty equal distance from most of the major cities

For sure. I also wanted to publicly thank you for falling on the sword and making the bracket much easier with an even 32 players.

Just couldn’t swing it this year. Definitely watching this space and rooting for the og pod

If the schedule wasn’t so compact @Conley76 could be a boss battle on the way to a title.

Lol still being on a 26 handicap while having made some real strides in my game probably would make that an accurate description of the test

2 of my 3 best rounds last year were my last two, including a personal low, but the second one was after posting season ended. Real shame, that one!
