Hey All - giving a one week reminder that tee-times and players lock-in (and become non-refundable).
Please give Evan and I a shout if plans change, so we can accommodate. After next Friday, we will need you to find a replacement to fill in, or eat the cancellation cost.
Two weeks until the best chicken salad (on a pretzel roll)!
But more seriously, @ajvhandel and I split the times between us so we didnāt become considered a ālarge groupā and he had to pre-pay so pay at the course.
Explaining yet another large golf course charge to Mrs GolfBum on the card seemed counterproductive.
Pay at the course - try to avoid the confusion at the course they had last year on whether we were paid or not. Figure it best to have everyone take care of it themselves at the course
Those who are playing, @ajvhandel and I have done a little talking, and because this already isnāt a cheap day, we werenāt sure about a charitable aspect.
Now; hereās what the plan is. $20 per gui, goes into the pot to start the round. If there is a hole in one made, congrats, you won the pot. If one is not made, we donate that $360 from the group to a charity of Adamās choosing given this is his brainchild.
I look forward to you all agreeing to this brilliant mediocre idea!
Last reminder that today is the last day @midwestgolfbum or I can adjust tee times and people - If there are any changes after today, itāll be on you to find a replacement or pay the cancellation cost
Alright everyone - the charity portion of this event as outlined above will be benefiting the Veterans Community Project (VCP). The goal of the organization is to build a community of tiny homes in Milwaukee for the large amount of homeless veterans in the area. Including the homes, they work with community to build a support network for the veterans for mental health, basic community with others in similar situations, and support with finding jobs.
Iāve volunteered a number of times with VCP - as one of my coworkers is on the board. Iāve worked side by side with the individuals this is targeted to benefit, and has provided a meaningful and impactful perspective of the problems facing those returning from unimaginable circumstances with sometimes little community and support.
Thanks again for everyone that made it out yesterday! It seems that the chants and dances to the weather gods paid off - hopefully we can keep the streak alive in 2025!
Congrats to @Kerry for a truly aspirational round and winning the inaugural No Reservations Taken event!
Thank you all for your support of VCP-Milwaukee - if I didnāt get your $20 yesterday, please send over to my Venmo - @Adam-VanHandel-1. Iāll make the donation this evening or tomorrow when I can get to my laptop.
