Well shit. Take my name off the list then. Enjoy.

It’s not my event. I’m just talking smack. You know a VIP like yourself is always welcome to join. Bring your collection of putters.

Anyone have a quick scouting report on Urbana CC? Jr. event there tomorrow (if it is able to be played).

How’s the terrain?

Elevation does play a part, especially on the back nine. Tons of uneven lies and the greens are “usually” on the slick side. #6 is a tricky driving hole, if I recall. #18 is a brute uphill, long par 4. Severe left to right slope on #11. Course has always been in solid condition when I’ve played there.

Good info, appreciate it. Most of the greens slope back to front?

I think a lot of them on the back nine do. 11 is a pretty flat green. Front nine greens seem to be a little less severe. Front is also a little more “open”, in general. Been a few years since I’ve been out there though.

Urbana Native, played the course many times. Front 9 was built by PB Dye in the early 90’s. Flatter of the 2 nines but has some tricky greens with roll of on the edges, if you’ve played a PB Dye design you know his greens can be wacky ie Heritage. Back 9 is much more hilly as GGates mentions. Back nine was built in 1922 by Paul Dye, Pete’s dad. Typical back to front sloped greens. The back is by far my favorite, lots of downhill drives with uphill approaches. Stay below the hole, especially on #15 downhill par 3 with a small pond left, very severe green. Place is always in nice condition

Is there a WhatsApp chat for the event?
