NLU ST ANDREWS INV. (Keep. DMK’s. Name. Out. Your Fu*kin Mouth!)

Muirfield is great and so is Johanna.

There’s a report in Forbes from yesterday afternoon that Boris Johnson is planning on opening up travel to vaccinated Americans and EU citizens without quarantine on August 16. I really wish they had made this announcements weeks ago; I didn’t feel comfortable waiting it out so I already changed my plans and cancelled all my tee times back at the beginning of the month (8-week cancellation window was the concern)

Events changing rapidly. I would not cancel 2021 trips. 2022 stacked up.

it’s on BBC now - I’ve been watching intently with a view to finally making it home to visit family, meet my new nephew, etc. Looks like a pre-departure test and PCR test on day 2 will still be a requirement. looks like August 2nd is the date this comes into play.

Getting a “this page doesn’t exist” error for that link

It’s a thread that is behind the paywall. Events is in front.

Can confirm, they will be on mats until The Open is over. We moved our trip to 2023 due to this and they are letting us keep our tee times, so all good. But she made it clear that if we came in 2022 prior to The Open we would definitely be on mats in the fairway.

Might not be the thread for this (as I saw above, but… paywall) but likely going to be in St. Andrews on Saturday 9/4 (traveling with my wife). Would love to get on one of the courses but typically requires two folks minimum. On the odd chance someone else is going to be there, would love to link up and play! A shot in the dark, I know. But ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Max

The Old Course is closed from 18th June - 18th July , there will be landing areas marked of which you must play of a matt and areas of rough marked of to stop getting trampled.
There is currently no singles que and no new bookings taking unless you use the 48hr ballot or and Authorised tour company .

Oh and please don’t come over as we’re enjoying playing The Old course twice a week .

The UK has updated travel policy where vaccinated travelers coming from non red list countries no longer have to have a pre departure test. This makes traveling to the UK a little easier.

Well it is official…I have secured a spot for this trip whenever it finally happens. This is a dream come true and will be one of my top bucket listers to mark off. I have been on an airplane once to Montana but aside from that I have never really ventured far from North Carolina. Excited is an understatement…

Has this roster completely turned over at this point? Curious to know what OGs are left

I wonder how many people signed up, left the refuge, and have completely forgotten they are signed up.

I’m still here, for now…

You’re a brave man. It might get to the point where the trip can be a father/son outing for you and Xander

I’m still in and cautiously optimistic that 22 is gonna be the year we go.

They’ll pry this trip from my cold, dead hands.

From November’ish, we have no green/amber list….just a red list. As long as Canadia stays off that, you are pretty much golden.

Though, some of us crazy brits booked to go to Pinehurst this time last year, for this week saying “it’ll be fine in a year….”
