Tunde on a climb ride? I sense PR’s from the guis this week.
Couple questions for the peloton gang from a newb:
- Do you all power down the monitor between rides or just leave in sleep mode?
- Do you tag #NLURefuge on all your rides or just the rides from the “Refuge Peloton” spreadsheet?
- I just let it turn off on its own mostly.
- The tag is associated with your name so every time you ride, the # shows up under your name on the leaderboard
-
I turn it off using the power button on the back of the monitor every time. My wife always leaves it, and everything else in the damn house…on.
-
I have the NLU tag on at all times, but it’s not my lead tag that displays under my name.

here’s my referral code. getting out in front of greebs this time.

I haven’t done a 45 min ride in a month or so, so it was fun to destroy my old PB by around 40 kj. First very real progress I’ve seen in a bit.
.Additionally I don’t think we appreciate how handsome Denis is. Just a gentleman through and through.
-
I press the power button once to put it in sleep mode.
-
I have the NLU tag as my lead tag but I think you can change which one displays whenever you start a ride.
Holy hell this week’s ride was hard. I couldn’t believe that I wasn’t close to my PR. That was as hard as I remember working on a ride, outside of the 20 minute FTP test.
So the rest of us are going to die, huh?
Well my reaction could also be because I did a grand total of 0 rides in August. YMMV
Pulled the trigger and took advantage of the sale and bought a Peloton. It’s getting delivered on Tuesday and can’t wait to get started. Any advice, tips, suggestions? I’ve done spin classes plenty of times so not too worried about riding in general, more interested in what Peloton veterans have to say.
This 20 minute “face melter” and then week three of crush your core has sufficiently kicked my ass today
It’s a long thread but I’d recommend going through it. Lots of similar posts and replies and I’ll never do them justice here. That said, if you’re new to cycling, I’d take their program “Beginners” or whatever it’s called. If not then I’d just encourage to start with 20 or 30 minute classes (the weekly rides here are usually 30 minutes) and find instructors you like, etc.
I very much appreciate the handsomeness of Denis.
In other news, since it’s finally getting to be to dark to be able to get 9 holes in after work easily, I’m probably going to go back on the power zone pack challenge BS. it forces me to get on the bike and I know it helps. The last few rides I have done have been sluggish lol.
Did take this Bradley ride today. Any ride that involves Ida Maria songs is AOK.
Diving into the Peloton world as well. Just got my bike on Tuesday. @tnord gave me some good info on instructors. Below is the post:
Damn, check this playlist out!
He’s kind of annoying. But his indie playlists are always
Love me some Ida Maria - - - “Oh My God” is my swing tempo song.
Ahhh that’s such a great song toooooooo!!!
That playlist is sweet. Gonna have to check that out for sure.
