Uh ok so this is excellent advice. I’m not sure why I thought that I’d like… go to jail if I turned up the resistance past the rec’d range but I must usually have a lot more in the tank than I think despite feeling gassed at the end of most rides. PR’d on this ride by almost 20 and I,1 - I didn’t really like the music and 2 - was still pretty sore from my strength workouts this week, so I think I could have done even better.
Moral of the story is listen to your body but also listen to @tnord. There is a good change you are stronger than you think.
I gave Jess King another try with this week’s ride. I think I only take her ride’s when they are chosen for the weekly ride. Will probably stick to my usual group of instructors, though. But, this ride was effective and got me a 20 min surprise PR. I still usually use the 15 and 20 min rides for recovery days, not pushing for PRs.
Also, got to 10K on the yearly challenge on this ride. Four months to go to reach 15K for the year. This has been my main Peloton goal for the year. Fell off a bit in June and July with vacation and golf. Lots of work to do but just gotta keep on showing up.
My wife and I are going to take the plunge and buy Peleton.
Are there any discount codes or rebates that anyone has used previously or is the $1,495 as good as it gets? Just trying to determine if it’s worth my time to do a little digging.
Sounds good buddy, I’ll use yours and order today and/or tomorrow.
Excited to have this thing arrive. My wife is big into fitness but she’s usually going to Barry’s in Larkspur but now that we have a little one arriving in November, she wants something at home that is efficient.
I hike 3-4 miles with the dog everyday but I’m trying to add some cardio and get myself back into cycling. I used to ride a ton in my 20s, which feels like forever ago haha.
Yeah, the beauty of the Peloton for ME is that it’s super hard to find “reasons” I can’t workout. The bike is RIGHT there! And a lot of hotels have them too so you can use them on your own account, etc.
Congrats on the little one - that will absolutely sap your time and energy and give way more excuses, so you guys are spot on in trying to be proactive here.
Thanks man. Yeah hopefully we can keep it up post new born. The great part about my daily hikes is I kinda have to do it, we have a 3 year old lab/pit mix that needs the energy let out, so it’s a daily must. Hopefully I can make the bike the same.
My wife got a pair of their leggings with one of our referral codes and absolutely loves them. She has historically avoided all higher priced leggings and typically opts for target and old navy. However, she now lives in her Peloton leggings. Just sayin’ if you’re looking to win some spousal bonus points
OK folks, apologies for the Labor Day/Solheim Cup induced delay here. Thanks to our friend @EZmiss for the nomination on this one. It’s a pre-pandemic ride so there’s riders in the studio, which is always a bit of a trip. We’ve got Tunde’s 30 Min Climb from 2/16/20 on tap. @ChickPhilA please update the title. Have a great week everybody!
