How in the name of god are these numbers possible??
I think we bought around BF and just got it a week ago. Which apparently was just in time because delivery dates are getting pushed out again.
Nice! I haven’t broken 660 yet for 30min - 675 is huge.
We did! Thanks so much.
I need to start doing the refuge rides again so I too can feel inferior to you beasts.
scrolling back through the beginning of this thread, the 300 mark used to be an achievement. now it looks like beginner level compared to @Ballgame @anon43372372 @ericrbens.
Finished off the 8th straight day before lunch and all I’m thinking about is being sad that tomorrow is an off day, and that I didn’t let the wife talk me into this sooner. I’m not sure what a realistic objective is, thinking 350 at the end of the month is doable (PR of 321 set yesterday). I might throw in my first ever yoga class tomorrow after a low impact ride.
Highly suggest the bike boot camps if you are looking to mix it up.
After my low impact ride today I decided to take the Ballgame Challenge. Maintain 70 resistance and 75 cadence until gassed. Was shooting for 5 minutes. I did not make it half way. Truly incredible stuff.
The bike bootcamps are tremendous. Hard as hell, but tremendous.
Hi all, just added a few of you on pelaton ( mjb802 ) - looking for any motivation I can find to build a routine and get fitter! First goal will be getting anywhere near the 300kJ mark!
Week 1 ride 1 of the newest power zone pack challenge completed this morning. First ride with slightly higher zones. Not too bad.
I really need to work on keeping output smooth when out of saddle lol.
No, you really don’t. This is one where i disagree with wilpers (which otherwise i never do). There’s only a few use cases for standing in real cycling: to adjust your crotch/butt, to get leverage going uphill or to sprint. In both those latter cases you’re literally just mashing the pedals as hard as you can. There’s no thought or need to be smooth.
I’m no where near the top of the leaderboard yet, and not debating how this is done in real cycling at all. I feel like if I’m really “stomping out,” as Emma might say, as much output as I can I’m putting extra bodyweight on the handlebars. If I move my hips back, and try to smooth things out it seems to engage my core as I try to “float” over the pedals if that makes any sense.
So might there be a case for smoothing it out for “better” workout?
EDIT; bookmarked. repeat. Emma.
I like this theory better. To hell with smooth out of saddle experiences. Hee hee.
Wait. So now that @ChickPhilA had mod privileges, she can edit the title weekly for us? Maybe I missed this, but sounds like a great choice by the higher powers
YES! I just tried and I have the pencil so I can edit it.
WHO’S PICKING A RIDE THIS WEEK!! @ me and I’ll update accordingly.
I want to nominate jess king’s sweat steady from 11/14/2020. I know she’s nuts, but her sweat steady rides are great and far different than what most nominate.
If 45 is too much we could do her sweat steady from 11/21/2020.
Done! We’re getting crazy this week!
coincidentally, the Ms. came up this morning after her first Jess King ride singing her praises. “she was awesome; she had a dj, a green eye painted on her forehead, and I gotta learn the purple hat dance.”
I just don’t think I’m ready for that yet.
EDIT; where are you guys getting those power zone reports? I flipped mine on and accepted the suggested FTP value, but I can’t see where I can go view the chart like for output.
I believe it’s a separate app they use for it.
