NLU Peloton Thread - Weekly Ride: 30 minute 2010’s Hip Hop Ride with Ally from 7/25/24

Completely agree that they could add a breakdown of the zones similar to how they show interval breakdowns on all other rides. If the average level of difficulty is around a 7, those regular PZ rides mostly stay in z3/z4. If the average is 8 or higher you should get more z4/z5.

Huh, I thought he’d released an Android version.

I’ve had it for a long time. The guy who built it was a PZ rider who didn’t like the metrics Peloton had so he built it for people to track PZ performance. At one point it had some cool training plans built in, but I think that is all paywalled now.

Couldn’t find mpaceline anywhere for Android. I will try power zone plus which is an app in the Google store, looks similar. I probably dont need it till the winter when I look to start PZ but nice to have a few different ways to track your metrics

Welp we were supposed to get our Peloton today but will be delayed until who knows when. We didn’t hear anything from Peloton or the delivery service regarding a delay and had to reach out to Peloton to see why weren’t contacted for our delivery window, only for them to tell us the bike hadn’t been delivered to the last-mile service (not sure if it’s XPO everywhere) yet. Not only could they not provide an estimate as to when the bike will be delivered, they said they don’t even know where the bike is within their own delivery/logistics system.

Especially sucks because we sold our old spin bike yesterday in advance of today’s delivery and they weren’t willing to do much of anything to make it right. While I’m sure the bike will be great, the customer experience has been pretty pretty horrible so far.

Damn. I would call again tomorrow to see if you can get someone else. I had a really good experience so my guess is it was just the person you talked to. I would also elevate it up the chain till you get someone who can help you.

Alright @Sarah. I am a big indie music fan, but i would have never taken a class that had oasis in the artist title when it comes to working out. Yet i found myself enjoying this class quite a “bit” sorry i was late on this weeks challenge something came up at the end of the week and couldn’t get on the bike the last three days. Glad you picked this class!

I say with no shame that as a result of Emma’s Coldplay ride, I absolutely hit the DMs to ask for an Oasis ride. (Fully endorsed by the wife) What’s the Story Morning Glory is a masterpiece.

Nothing against Oasis or any of the bands on the british pop. I just normally ride to hip hop/rap. Funny enough for the most part i don’t listen to most of the artists that are on the hip hop or rap rides bc they are new songs. I would listen to the indie songs but just don’t normally ride to them.

Awkward … I believe @Taylorda managed to confuse you with one of the other women here, @ChickPhilA … let’s get more women in the Refuge and reduce this kind of confusion!

(Also, @Sarah, get a Peloton! They are awesome!)

Yeah everyone was pleasant but unable to provide any real information, answers, or solutions. A supervisor was supposed to call me back today but it’s been - checks watch - 8 hours since that was supposed to happen with no phone call. Oh well.

@Sarah @ChickPhilA Damn it sorry!! This is embarrassing should have cooled down a little longer as apparently I was still a bit fatigued.

First time HITT-er.

I sweated like a mofo but I’m not sure I dig the HIIT. It was hard for me to set a good pace to not die an early death versus having nothing left at the end. Do you guys actually go down to zero resistance on the rest intervals?

I don’t go all the way to zero but I got really light—-30 ish.

It takes a few tries to get a feel for HIIT. For sure take recovery seriously, escalate into intervals by ramping up in effort rather than jumping straight up, and figure out your threshold effort. But it’s a great way to get a lot of bang For your buck in a relatively short period of time.

I’m going to do this tomorrow morning. If I don’t make it, tell my wife I love her

When you planning on doing it. I might be able to join you if your game

Probably tomorrow morning, 7:00 AM PST or so

That’s brutal. That 9 my time to early in the work day.

Upped my output by 21 from the first time. Totally get it for those who don’t like HIIT, but those are for sure my best rides to feel like I got a good workout.

In between intervals, I’ll drop to 15-35. Usually will stay at 35 and get out of the saddle to flush out the legs.

Way to go everyone though, y’all kick ass!
