sounds like an 8-bit video game soundtrack. that’s insaaaane
First post here, don’t know what everyone’s tastes are, but this has been an absolute earworm for me for like two weeks
Obligatory:

The Ball continues. Set 2 of 3 has started.
Come dance.
EDIT : Both Ben and Jerry, of ice cream fame, will be featured soon. Likely tripping their toes off.
A go to Sunday get shit done around the apartment album for me
Strong recommend for The Greeting Committee’s new album. Saw them open for Bombay Bicycle Club a couple years ago, and they may be the most fun group I’ve ever seen perform. They’re on tour now, very excited to see them again as headliners.
Wilderado’s first full length album after releasing a few EPs. Also, Wilderado Spotify radio brings some heat and I’ve come across a few bands that have been added to the rotation.
Listened to a few. They have a fun sound I like it. “Make out” is a BOP
How Long is also terrific despite being at the end of the album. They are just so fun
Turnpike Troubadours are rumored to be coming back soon
I took my brothers and dad to Jason Isbell last Friday. None of them listen to Jason regularly, but I said trust me he’s going to put on a great show. They all loved it!
My dad walking out: “That man has got me kinda fucked up. He’s so profound. It got really visceral in there.”
So I suggest going to see him live anywhere you can.
The photo opportunities from the mezzanine in Durham were less than optimal, so here’s one.
I heard an odd cover song at the gym this morning.
Five Finger Death Punch - Bad Company (Cover)
I’m not sure how I hadn’t heard this before since it’s been out for 11 years, but stay with me here.
The original song Bad Company was released in 1974 by the band Bad Company… on their debut album titled, you guessed it, Bad Company
Now, I enjoy covers. I like hearing an artist’s take on an already-well-known song. But this is an odd choice for two reasons.
One: Bad Company is a very basic, decent rock song. The original is just fine. It’s a bang average rock song and FFDP made no real changes.
Two: I don’t think any other song in history has “belonged” more to its creator than Bad Company by Bad Company from the album Bad Company. Who was asking for a new take on this?
I’ve got tickets to his Knoxville show after the first of the year. Pumped as it’ll be our first live music since I saw Incubus back before COVID fucked everything up.
