There have been some good ones listed already to be sure, but there is a right answer here and it is “Alive,” by Pearl Jam.
First single, broke a new band to mega stardom, still owns a stadium full of people.

Recency bias. (If EP’s count)
9th grade me would kick my @$$ if I didn’t mention this
I will be back later I’m sure.
I submit track 3 from the album of the same name, Mantis by Umphrey’s McGee.

And of course, the live version is more fun.
Yes, an Umphreak! When I need to calm my golf nerves I put on a solid Glory and let it roll.
Some 3rd tracks from your resident alt pop/rock lover:
Mountain Sound - Of Monsters & Men

Hate That You Know Me - Bleachers

Deliverance - Chvrches

So Tied Up - Cold War Kids

Third track on Discovery.
Didn’t realize this was the third track but here we are
Definitely solid.
I’ll contribute
Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill - She’s Crafty
Prince Sign O’ The Times - Housequake
I thought, was hoping, the 3rd song for Paul’s Boutique was Egg Man. Johnny Ryall is still great:

An idea for a future topic for this thread: the album you are the biggest fan of. Not your favourite album, but the album that you like more than anyone else in the world. I feel there could be some interesting stories (how you found it, why it’s your favourite, best tracks, etc.).
3rd Tracks!

That Minus The Bear album is solid.
Lot of good picks so far. Here’s a few more I think are great
Maximum Piss & Vinegar – Dillinger Four
Old White Lincoln – Gaslight Anthem

Fake Tales of San Francisco – Arctic Monkeys
Any Minus the Bear reference gets a like from me! I think Let’s Play Guitar in a Five Guitar Band is probably the best track on that album.
I remember seeing Dave Knudson’s previous band Botch for one of their last shows together in Sacramento circa 2004. When MTB came out as his next project, it was quite a shock.
