Oh man THPS 2. how could I forget lol
The best of the THPS series IMO
I feel the urge to share this very random (and somewhat specific) memory that relates to this album.
When I was a freshman in high school, a friend of mine let me borrow this CD. I was so desperate to have the songs for my own that I actually recorded the songs from the CD onto a cassette tape (yes a cassette tape in the 2000āsā¦)
I remember having late night hockey games as a part of what is/was known as the VFW league in MN Bantam hockey. Those games could be all over the metro at the strangest times on a weeknight. I specifically remember my mom driving me to late night games and her letting me play the tape in her 1998 Volvo station wagon. Now and then we would stop at an Applebeeās and share a soda and a half off app or desert or whatever just because she was having a good time talking with me (or at least she said she did )
My Mom was so damn cool.
This is a strong transitionā¦to say the least. Iām physically unable to like this any more emphatically than I already have. Agreed on Cudi ass well.
Top 10 Teen Albums. This should be fun. Saw some mentioned up above and love the memories being shared.
Nirvana - Nevermind
Pearl Jam - Vs
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies
RHCP - Blood Sugar Sex Magic
Weezer - Blue Album
Notorious BIG - Ready to Die
Dr Dre - The Chronic
Radiohead - The Bends
Oasis - Whats the Story Morning Glory
Some of these were āconfiscatedā by my Mom.
Some absolute bangers in this list.
Iāve been listening to Jar of Flies a lot the last couple months. (Alice in Chains in General)
Donāt look back in angerā¦
(Iām sorry I couldnāt help myself)
Haha, the best was I borrowed a friends Doggystyle CD as well. Sadly, he didnāt get it backā¦
I have taken a sabbatical, but here we go, this will show an interesting transition through adolescence:
Jock Jams - Volume 1 (It was this or the Space Jam soundtrack, I defaulted)
Oasis - Whatās the Story Morning Glory
Collective Soul - Dosage
Outkast - Stankonia
DMB - Crash
Nelly - Country Grammar
Kanye West - The College Dropout
Snow Patrol - Eyes Open
T.I. - Paper Trail
Lilā Wayne - Tha Carter III
I was very tempted to add Big Willie Style, just couldnāt do itā¦
Big fan of Eyes Open, but how did it land between Nelly, Kanye, TI and Wayne?
Grew up in a small town in western NC, no genre was off limits. Also, tried to keep this as chronologically accurate as possible.
Good lord this is extremely difficult. Iāve got a list of 18 artists and more than half have at least two albums I can list.
I didnāt even mention the 2 Casualties albums I listened to like crazy from ages 13-15
No āwhat it is to burnā
No āpass the flaskā
No āfrail words collapseā
Not a mention of āthe story of the clashā
Or āSticks and Stonesā
Feeling like I messed stuff up.
Edit: Who is Mike Jones?

And finally here is the song. Early contender for song of 2021 after Dadi Freyr was the runaway winner of 2020
This is incredible!
