Music Suggestions 2 - driving fast in my car

What do you search on YouTube to see more of this stuff!!

Cause it’s been one of those days. This is NSFW and probably anywhere else.

not sure about others on youtube, but there are a lot of these videos/accounts on tiktok.

the main guy is @nathanevanss and the deep voice is @luke.the.voice

pretty great stuff

No fucking clue what I just watched, and, frankly, only clicked for the still, but that was wild. Perfect way to end the day.

Pedal Steel has to be some of my favorite sounds, so thanks for sharing ā€œHarlem River Bluesā€. There is a newish band called Pinegrove that uses a lot of pedal steel now…this song features it quite well. I find their drummer and the vocals to be super good.

Russian rock band Biting Elbows. Their Lead Ilya Naishuller created the first person POV action filming and has been on fire ever since. He is directing/directed the Bob Odenkirk film ā€œNobodyā€ releasing in February.
It’s definitely not for everyone, but it kicks some serious ass.

There was a whole movie on Netflix filmed like that…nauseating if you get motion sickness

I tried to go through this exercise awhile back but had a very difficult time narrowing down the list, and thinking about it, I thought it might be fun to ask the people of the Refuge/Nest.

What Were 10 albums that shaped/had an impact to your teen years (ages 13-19)? Specifically want to call out that the albums didn’t have to be released when you were a teen, just music from that time that influence or impacted you most.

Quick and dirty off the top of my head. And this is the non-country version. My parents (and then later peers) listened to a lot of country, hence, I listened to a lot of country during those years as well.

Guns N’ Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Iron Maiden - Live After Death
Beatles - Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Beastie Boys - Pauls Boutique
Beach Boys - Best of Beach Boys
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
Billy Joel - Glass Houses
Prince and the Revolution - Purple Rain

edit: Maybe I’d drop Billy Joel as not being in my teen ā€œinfluentialā€ list (a bit earlier), and I would add another Prince album, Sign O’ The Times.

Ride the Lightning - Metallica
And Justice for All - Metallica
Follow the Leader - Korn

A rough list but a fairly accurate one
Took me a long time to get to this point and I feel like I’m leaving some big ones off the list. This may get edited a lot…

AFI- The Art of Drowning
MGMT- Oracular spectacular
Wu-Tang- Enter the 36 Chambers
Band of Horses - Everything all the time
After the Burial - Forging a Future Self
Atmosphere - when life gives you lemons you paint that shit gold

Lil’ Wayne - The Cater III
David Bowie - Best of Bowie (a greatest hits album feels lame to list but it is real)
Avenged Sevenfold - waking the fallen
CKY - volume 1
Kid Cudi - Man on the Moon: End of the day.
