I know I had posted one of their songs a couple months ago, but I have to follow up and say

ā€œOnly One Modeā€ by Speed is a kick ass album. For people who like Metal/Hardcore music.

I am investing early. This kid has a great voice.

Got my pop-punk/emo fix in last night, went and saw Tiny Moving Parts. They put a hell of a show with tons of energy that made for a wild environment. Bonus points for them when looking through their socials they have plenty of golf posts and their bass player was rocking a NLU logo in one of them

This band popped up on a playlist and I really like their sound.

They’re good! Probably the buzziest band of this recent crop of Philly emo bands

Is the emo/pop-punk scene having a moment in Philly currently? Just very recently came across this band also based out of Philly

It’s longer than a moment. Philly has always had a solid music scene pumping out the jams.

The Wonder Years
Modern Baseball
The Menzingers
Sorority Noise
Circa Survive
Balance and Composure
Hop Along

I’m sure there’s dozens more.

It’s about that time of year isn’t it…

Circa Survive and Minus the Bear are winter musts for me

The only time I saw MTB was in like 2008 and Portugal. The Man opened.
It was a different time. And also feels like 100 years ago.

TYFYS. I was going to say it’s not a moment, it just has it’s own waves now lol (RIP MOBO)

My two favorites - I went to the farewell tour of Minus the Bear, second to last show in Portland, bought the tour poster, lost it in a move. I think about this poster still monthly and my lovely wife has tried everything to get our hands on one without any luck. I dont care much for my ā€œthingsā€ but damn this one hurts even still haha

Really want to go see The Swell Season in Philly over the summer - mostly because I want to see Glen Hansard. I’d prefer if it was just him or if he was touring with The Frames.

However, the woman to whom I am related by marriage is not super interested in going. I think she’d go begrudgingly, but I would have to end up doing something equitable in return.

Is it worth it? The existential question…

The Used just announced a very intriguing tour where they’re playing 3 consecutive nights in each city, and playing one of their first 3 records each night - The Used, In Love and Death, and Lies for the Liars. Pretty limited cities as of now but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t thinking about skipping down to Chicago in April to see the self-titled.
