Please let it be true
MAAAAYBEEEEEEEE
I couldnāt help myself
I used to think Ariana has the āmost explicit and constant use of lyrics to talk about getting dicked down in a saccharine sweet pop songā crown but Sabrina really snatched that wig.
How I feel after a long weekend at Disney:
But I think it works cause itās said in a comedic and/or unserious way. And that āunseriousā way of writing may be where pop music is going rn.
We may be hitting a new era of recession pop
Holy cow this is good. Complete level up from their other stuff which was already good. Might be one of the best albums of the year
2024 really is the year of alt-pop for me. Billie Eilish, The Last Dinner Party, Vampire Weekend, Maude Latour, now this. geez.
Genuine question, not trying to be snarky, but do you listen to anything that doesnāt slap or may be the best album of the year?
I hear a lot of music that I donāt like and donāt post in here. I just post the good stuff. Thereās a lot of good music being made these days. People seem to have similar taste/appreciate it so I keep throwin em in here!
(Proof)
In a post punk mood today and Fearing is hitting the spot:
Sweet sweet nostalgia
Howard rules, the sound mix is incredible (full show here), and the crowd is awesome.
I too always liked Howards vocals which aggravated my OG kse buddy to no end, who thought anything other than Jesse was sacrelig.
Started a Spotify playlist based on Radiohead the other day and it has been such a great listen.
Speaking of receipts, Iām proud of this
Been doing a thing for almost 2 years now where you get an album selected for you at random each day to listen to, and of course today we got Born to Run. Iāve probably listened to this thing three times through now (with the goal of ātrying to get itā) and I may be coming around. I absolutely do not like Bruceās voice at all (it really bugs the hell outta me haha), but this is a good album. I do enjoy listening to it. That being said, without Clarence it might be unredeemable haha
The fact they put Clarenceās sax in the Rock and Roll HOF before they put the man himself in there remains one of the great injustices of that institution.
Tax:
Iām a fan of essentially all genres of music (except for modern country) and feel like The Pot by Tool is truly one the greatest modern pieces of music created. The drums, bass, lyrics and purposeful enunciation is chefs kiss
Also IMO my favorite first 60 seconds of any song. Packed full. Like a Caravaggio, everything is purposeful and without waste
