This rules so hard
I was glad to see Mine Again was finally on Spotify the other day when I remembered to look for it.
The original video is so good
The video version is so much better than whatâs on Spotify. But somethingâs better than nothing.
Was listening to an episode of Dudesy and they had to go through music videos that meant something to them⌠for Jo reason other than see ya later 2022, some of mine. Would love to see this thread a bit more active in 2023
I found Weezer in my first year of Uni in 1998, remains one of my fav clips and songs to this day.
Pumpkins were still a bit of an unknown to 16yr old me when this clip was big, but I had it recorded off our local music clip show Rage and I maybe wore out the tape on itâŚ
Still on the 16yr old them, horny old me fkn live the Spice Girls! Itâs been 26 years, but this clip is still amazing.
Last one is a bit of an ode to this thread. 2020 lockdowns in Melb Oz sucked ass and yet I found Manchester Orchestra here. This video is good, but itâs more this song that really made me fall in love with them!
Happy NY to all, good golfing in 2023!
This one too, just because Jack is my favourite artist of all time and this live performance kicks so much assâŚ
I donât know if itâs because there is a boat load of snow and itâs cold outside, but apparently I really like Tyler Childers now? I didnât mind his music before always thought it was good, but have been listening to it a lot the past few days.
Friends, youâre welcome.
Also, everything this man makes is certified gold. Heâs a mix of everything good music deserves to be. Out of his entire catalog, I maybe donât absolutely love 2-3 of his songs.
And this man right here is from a time long forgotten, but happens to produce music today.
I havenât seen anyone mention Sports Team yet though their SEO can be a bit muggy with that name. DJ Pie mentioned he wants to listen to new albums this year so I thought Iâd share. I just started listening to these guys a few weeks ago and dig the song a lot
Now hold on a minute, I could be interested
I used to be crazy into AfromanâŚwhen I was 15 and first smoking the ganj. Then a few years ago he did this and lost me.
While Iâm for getting fans off stage in a hurry, thereâs better ways to handle it than a haymaker.
Also, J Cole did it first
Iâve been circulating this recently itâs amazing he turned this into something monetary. Adams County OhioâŚshame shame shame. And that guy totally double takes on the pound cake.
Always had respect for Joni but never dove more deeper than Blue. My dad put me on to this album and I havenât listened to anything else since. Just amazing stuff. Joni Mitchell - In France They Kiss On Main Street - YouTube
Using this post as an accountability post to do a short write up on my favorite albums from (or listened to for the first time) in 2022. Probably a top 5-10
List will come tomorrow during the work day, and if not you can get the pitchforks ready
Alright here are my Albums I loved in 2022, with some standout tracks listed, no order just vibes:
-
Stick Season - Noah Kahan
- A love letter to Vermont/New England, really hit home and tell stories of the area, family issues, and personal growth. A Folky Singer/Songwriter album that isnât afraid to get a little loud and upbeat for a few tracks, then take it down with some chilling vocals. Possibly my favorite album of 2022
- Favorite Tracks: âHalloweenâ, âGrowing Sidewaysâ, âHomesickâ
-
Being Funny in a Foreign Language - The 1975
- If youâve listened to a 1975 album before, you know theyâre eclectic, introspective, and rock the god damn house. BFIAFL is no different, with funky melodies, lyrics sometimes bordering on comical, and a few ballads to round out the album. Their performance live certainly added to my love for the album
- Favorite Tracks: âLooking for Somebody to Loveâ, âOh Carolineâ, âWhen We Are Togetherâ
-
Dawn FM - The Weeknd
- 2022 started off with a heater of an album by one of the best in the business. Not a single skippable song on the record for me, with some skits/a poem to tie together an album dealing with legacy, regret, and moving on. A pretty intense Follow up to 2020âs After Hours lands perfectly.
- Favorite Tracks: âGasolineâ, âOut of Timeâ, âLess Than Zeroâ
-
Kings of the New Age - State Champs
- A band I had never heard of until going to the Sad Summer festival to go see Neck Deep, their music brings such a rush of energy to every track. Pop punk is sometimes considered an older genre, but this album proves thereâs still value and new ideas in the genre. Some great features on vocals from Ben Barlow of Neck Deep and other singers change up the sound in pretty unique ways.
- Favorite Tracks: âSundressâ, âOutta My Headâ, âEverybody but Youâ
-
When I Close My Eyes - Chelsea Cutler
- Technically this album came out in 2021 but the deluxe came out in early 2022 so it stays. Iâve had this album on repeat since the day it came out. An album that plays on self-respect, self-empowerment, and reflections on past relationships. Thereâs a song for every mood on this album, but it still works as a full project from front to back.
- Favorite Tracks: âthe lifeboatâs empty!â, âWalking Awayâ, âYouâre Gonna Miss Thisâ
