I like a pretty straightforward Radiohead. They lose me on the weirder stuff.
I was thinking the other week about picking 3 songs from one artist for the rest of my life. Hard to beat:
Al Green - Letâs Stay Together, Love & Happiness, Tired of Being Alone
I like to play (1) one artist for the rest of your life, and (2) one album for the rest of your life.
Just another set of bangers
9 more songs after releasing 34 last month
âMotorcycle Drive Byâ and âQuittinâ Timeâ are both fantastic with the windows down
Listening to Bloc Partyâs Silent Alarm record straight through for the first time in forever and now really mad at myself for not going to the silent alarm album show in Philly back in â19.
That is all.
In honor Tommyâs good week this version never fails to kill me
This might be the best performance of a loversâ quarrel ever recorded (and an amazing song).
Itâs this video that always gets me (from about 3:40 on) with Stevie singing to Lindsay âYouâll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves youâ staring into his eyes. Just incredible raw emotion.
Also, as long as weâre posting our fave Radiohead songs/performances (No Surprises is a great live song and How to Disappear is on my shortlist of my top Radiohead songs), Weird Fishes/Arpeggi from the From The Basement session is a must watch. Takes what sounds like a very heavily produced song and shows how simple they can make it look.
(Kid A is the Radiohead album I would take to a desert island though.)
JFC, this song and video always hit hard, havenât thought about it in years. Thanks for posting. I know what Iâm going to be watching this week.
Oh man, True Love Waits is probably my fave Radiohead live song.
Speaking of incredibly emotional performances.
Indeed - this one is my favorite version I think
Orville Peck is sick. Both full albums have such a good vibe, like going back in time but with some modern touches. Very reminiscent of Sturgillâs first two albums in that way.
The piano gets me every time. Just seems to come in out of nowhere
This cover gets me goosebumpy every time in a good way. The sense of wonder and melancholy in her lyrics really cuts through me. The gradual descent from folk ballad into legitimate speed metal is a real cherry on top. Iâve listened to some other Unleash the Archers songs and just donât like them so
Havenât stopped listening to this Radiohead song since I first heard it a few months ago. Itâs one theyâve had for a while but they just put it out on Kid Amnesiac last year. I dig it a lot.
