Music Suggestions 2 - driving fast in my car

Been a little frustrated lately having songs stuck in my head from local bands from when I was in highschool and lost the original CD’s I bought at their shows but their music doesn’t exist online anymore because they were too small.

Thanks for letting me ramble

I have found some old stuff on YouTube oddly enough.

I have been trying. Some have surfaced, others have not.

Radiolab just did a 5 part series on the casette tape. The last episoe (Mixtake: Help?) has a section where they go through old casette mixtapes of music that past lovers had given them. Even after quite some time you can hear how emotional they make people. I think you’re right that a Spotify playlist just aint the same.

Not sure if this is still on topic, but for fast aggressive driving, ante up is quite possibly the best song.

A Spotify playlist is easy.

A real mix tape…even a mixed (burned) CD took a lot more time to create. It actually showed dedication. Especially if you were recording songs from an actual radio station.

That’s nothing on a mixed tape from recording songs off the radio!

@Nickygifts may I have your permission to ask a question not related in any way shape or form to current subject/theme?

Sure man do whatever the hell you want

Why don’t people talk more about the band Staind?

I ask this genuinely. They had some very good songs in their window but maybe they were just out shown by other bands at the time.

Maybe I am missing something :man_shrugging:

I think you answered your own question.

For the Spoon nerds, the new album that’s coming in Feb is fantastic!

@MrChickPhilA guess I’m going to start talking about Staind more :sunglasses::joy:

Please no. Just look at what Aaron Lewis is up to these days.

Mudshovel was a banger.

To this day I think this is a great song. Probably because it reminds me of being an extremely depressed teen, but whatever.

I also think this is a good song.

The rest of Staind’s catalog does nothing for me.

Who doesn’t like a bit of Nu-Metal when you’re feeling a bit angsty?

I was always impressed for a the reference to Hittites in this song.

In their never-ending quest to have all of the things. Storage is cheap, I guess.
