LowCal vs NorCal - Copa de California

I may be an idiot and have missed this but what time is the block of tee times?

@Aham13 is working on locking in shit this week.

We had 6 times starting at 9am. I’m dropping two times so we’ll start at 9:18 I think.

While I don’t plan on winning any golf performance related awards next month, I’m gunning for that Sportsmanship Trophy

NorCal I dropped your emails onto this spreadsheet so I can keep track of everyone. I looked everyone up on GHIN and I think I got the right indexes for everyone except for @nuclear_niblick since there were multiple people with the same name. If you don’t mind double checking my work and then letting me know if there’s anyone you wanted to play with that day I would appreciate it.

Monday morning update. 4/8 NorCal guys have paid, thank you.

As far as pairings go would you rather play 1 foursome of SoCal vs 1 foursome of NorCal in a 2 man best ball match. With the last 2 groups of 2 NorCal and 2 SoCal playing singles and a best ball match within the foursome.

Or

4 groups mixed 2 SoCal 2 NorCal?

I think it’s a good idea for everyone to play from the combo tees, thoughts?

I think combos are perfect. My vote would be 4 groups of 4 ball. Each group plays a 2v2 nassau with three points at stake. Then first to 7 points win the copa. That’s how we did our norcal cup and it was solid

Agreed! I think splitting each group 2 and 2 makes sense so everyone gets to play with some new people

We already won the Copa by virtue of LowCal not showing up, IMO. They shouldn’t be able to claim the trophy if a group of mostly people unaffiliated with their roost happen to win. With all due respect to those of them that ARE making the trip, we certainly appreciate those guys. But I don’t see how LowCal could claim the cup when most of the guys on their roster aren’t in their roost.

first to 7 points win the *friendly consolation match

As a NorCal Roost member not involved I just have to say I hope, trust and expect that the entire LowCal community is embarrassed that they can’t wrangle more than three members to show up for a tournament planned for months. I keep thinking the word “disgraceful” is too strong, but I can’t think of a better one. For a Roost that just won the championship, it might be even worse that this is happening. And we are traveling to your area (or, at least, closer than ours.)

For all the praise you deserve for winning at Sweetens, this is a true “not great, Bob!” way to follow that up. This feels like the whole Roost might deserve the Schwaldo of the Month award (@MerchCzar).

Either way, hope it’s a fun weekend either way and wish I could join.

So you’ll definitely be there, considering you’re calling out our entire roost?

Oh, you won’t be? Makes sense that you’re on such a high horse

I mean I said I wasn’t involved with this event. Fairly sure it was in my first sentence. And if your whole Roost is NOT embarrassed by this failure to show up for an event like this, that’s deeply troubling. And embarrassing.

Also if I DID show up, it would only be against three of your members, right? And five guys from wherever? I guess if I wanted to show up and make fun of you guys for this, I’d need to go door to door since you aren’t showing up after saying you would. (I never said I’d be there since I try hard to not bail on planned events others work hard to setup and travel to, but that’s just me I guess.)

GODDAMN. GREEBS WITH THE LOCKER ROOM MATERIAL!
