I typically do my weigh ins Saturday. Even when I’m eating well and on track I feel like a Monday morning (post weekend) is gonna be a little false reading.
The struggle I get is I’m not even hungry most of the time I eat something. Just bored, something to do, etc. I do fall victim to the free food trap too, need to avoid eating stuff just because it’s there.
My biggest problem. I’m a big boredom snacker
It got so much worse for me post COVID and working from home…so much worse. Right before COVID hit I’d lost like 60 pounds. Unfortunately since then I’ve found it all.
Anyone here snack because their mouth gets bored?
I like it for that reason. Keeps me motivated on the weekend if I want to see better numbers. Just need to not go weeks/months between weigh ins ![]()
Good lord this is my biggest problem. I’ve removed sweets from my house (as much as I can with kids) but diving into that fridge and getting something to eat, especially when drinking, is my Achilles heel
Yeah having a 10 year old in the house complicates things! I don’t even drink really, so I can’t blame that and I’m not taking in useless calories from it either. Like people who are like “I stopped drinking and lost 30 pounds” didn’t work for me, ha!
See I’m not a massive sweets guy. It’s the salty that gets me. Oh I’m refilling my water? Might as well grab a handful of goldfish. Next thing I know half the carton is gone in 3 days
Same for me. Always rather have some more of the main course than dessert.
You down to try things that’ll help with your mindfulness? Things like meditation, journaling. Might give your brain an extra few seconds between wanting to eat and realizing you don’t NEED to eat and move on from the urge? It’s been helping me with social media addiction. The ‘fuge doesn’t count!!!
Day 1 of my goal to lift weights and work out 3 days a week for 9 weeks consistently. I kicked my own ass tonight.
I’ve never in my life had a desire to lift or really exercise, which explains my current physical condition, but I am truly enjoying myself.
Hello fellow thicc bois, did a little closet clean out and I’ve got some pants/shorts available on the silk road

Great job, man. I’ve gotta figure something that i can do to get healthy and lose some weight. Will be checking this thread for inspiration and eventually support.
Pretty pumped I have really refocused on weight loss starting in the middle part of November. Weighed myself today and hit my first goal of dropping 15 lbs!
Status update:
The combination of the most stressful stretch of work I’ve ever had, MBA program on the side, and holiday family gathering food have resulted in a 20 lbs increase since July.
So I’m back on the wagon. Tracking every calorie consumed and every calorie burned daily; practicing what I learned in past Noom subs (not going that route quite yet) to get back to fighting weight.
That’s all, just a mea culpa for not remaining diligent to that not-so-thicc boy lifestyle.
This has been helping me in the past couple weeks a lot. If I check the fridge in a moment of boredom, I ask this question then usually grab a seltzer or put coffee on. Down 6 lbs in two weeks. ![]()
That’s great to hear! Keep it up.
We’ve all been there. Recognizing the drift and flipping the script is like 2/3 of the battle. Keep it going.
As far as my progress, I started using MacroFactor this week to log food and daily weight. Really, really liking it so far. I’ve never been a food logger before, but it’s already had a huge impact, if only from making me not want to eat out and have to enter those shit numbers ![]()
I also really like having a short term goal to push for. I had an opportunity to fill in on a short weekend trip to Bandon in March come up and jumped at it. Having that carrot to push myself for is great psychologically. I love a good sprint. Still learning to love the marathon, we’re making progress there.
