You guys are incredible. Tough morning on our end. Apparently when they filled my pump 2 weeks ago, they never confirmed the setting so it released the incorrect amount and not enough for the dosage I needed. It simply came down to human error which is frustrating.

So they refilled and are administering chemo round 19 now. I’ll do a more informative post this evening.

Right now I’m out of the hospital and headed to the driving range to hit as many balls as it takes to figure out this mega fade.

Love y’all.

Here’s basically the cliff notes of everything from my instagram. My wife did a much better job at articulating how the morning went.

I wrote about my mentality and approach to this next series of chemo I’m going to practice what I preach.

Control what you can control and be as positive as I can.

Team,

Thursday we are back in the saddle for Round 20. We’ve had a rough couple of weeks trying to mentally navigate being back in the regime of appointments.

We got word that my surgical oncologist from Ohio State has taken a new role in Dallas and will be moving on next month. He was the reason we chose to pursue the HAI pump and treatment at OSU. Although we still feel like they can give us the best care at this time, my wife and I are exploring some other opinions as well.

The HAI pump was developed at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC and they have probably the best team in the country. As of now, we might be able to see their team the first week of April, but nailing down everything has been a huge pain in the ass. Still tons to figure out regarding the team we’ll be able to meet, travel expenses, and everything else that goes into it.

We know another big surgery is in my future, but we have no idea who, when, or where will be able to take care of everything. OSU is still an option, but none of it feels warm and fuzzy.

Advocating for ourselves is exhausting. We never thought it would be so hard to receive the care we think we deserve.

The mindset is still the same though, keep showing up. The physical shit is easy compared to the mental warfare and uncertainty we often feel.

Thanks for giving me a safe space to vent a little. Still a long road to go.

Thanks for believing in me. I won’t let you down.

Fuck Cancer.

-Goose
