Finally sitting down after a long holiday and I wanted to take a few minutes to share some gratitude to you wonderful folks.
These last 3 years have been really tough, but in that darkness, I found this wonderful community.
When I first started playing after my diagnosis, I just thought it would be a great way to recover physically from the surgeries and to be fair, it’s done just that. I had no idea just how much this game would begin to take care of me.
That’s where you all come into play.
You all have shown me the power of community. You’ve followed along with my cancer journey and taken so much time to invest in my well being.
You’ve sent care packages, messages of encouragement, and worn blue on too many Thursdays for someone you’ve never met in person. You’ve supported me by making and buying shirts, streaming my tunes, and raised some serious $$ for colon cancer research.
Some of you that are local have invited me onto courses I had no business playing, making sure I never had to reach for my wallet to cover any fees. You’ve fed me and covered my tabs. You’ve made me feel like a part of your family.
If given the choice, I wouldn’t change a thing. As heavy a burden cancer can be, I’d carry it all over again. My diagnosis has brought some incredible people into my life and I want you to know how thankful I am.
I hope someday we all get a chance to tee it up, break bread, and laugh together. Each and every one of you have been so kind and welcoming.
I truly am a blessed man.
