Those all are just so awesome. Especially the one of 18.
Thanks. I wish the film hadn’t gotten messed up so they all look more like the one of Joey, but that’s life!
New here! I have a Nikon D3400, excited to pack it out on the course and not just focus on my swing for a full round
Day out at Rustic Canyon this week with some co-workers. Using A7III and Sigma 100-400 lens.
I go back and forth on shooting in silent mode or not. I hate the global shutter issues in silent mode…the club distortion is horrible. BUT i can then get shots of people throughout the whole swing without a shutter firing and bothering them. I think im just going to start shooting in regular mode and start firing right after impact cause the shots at the backswing tend to be distorted anyway
Backswings are overrated anyway
i mostly like impact position shots, but the end of the swing shots end up being about 80% of the selects i keep. So ill keep experimenting. With the longer lens i can get farther away and still shoot.
I thought I would share these photos I took about two years ago. Back when I was bored during the winter. I think it would be really cool to look into this concept more, but I don’t really have the gear to do it.
Long Exposure Photography using light up golf balls and LEDs mounted on clubs.
What recommendations do y’all have for carrying a camera on the course? Planning for a Scotland trip this summer where I’ll probably opt for a Jones bag (minimal pockets). Want to document the trip in a way that doesn’t add too much fuss to the rounds.
Do you bring a separate camera bag? And during the round, do you keep the camera out, or put it back in the bag between shots? Open to any practical tips you find helpful for making shooting on the course fun and low maintenance.
I found a backpack attachment for cameras and attached it to my golf bag. Easy clip on and off for access, plus it locks when on so it won’t fall off. I have something from this manufacturer. https://spiderholster.com/
I have something similar from Peak Design (Capture Clip). I’ve attached it to my bag or pushcart before, but typically I keep the camera in my hand until I get close to my shot. A hand strap like this can super helpful if you are doing things that way.
Some shots from my round at Rustic Canyon this am. Practicing lugging my camera around for my Bandon Trip next week.
Question for my fellow Sony shooters: what’s your go to travel lens? Going to Scotland next month, and I’m looking for a zoom lens to add to my 40mm 2.5. I shoot on an A7CII, so the smaller and lighter the lens, the better
I love my sigma 28-70. It’s much lighter and smaller than the 24-70 version and has the same 2.8 through the whole zoom
That 2nd shot is phenomenal!! Great photos!
Was shooting with a D5600 I recently recieved while in Utah this past weekend. Still trying to dial in the settings but not bad for the first trip with it.
