Some iPhone 15 images - I liked the way the ocean was visible through the trees from 4th tee at Te Arai South. The sand in foreground with view back down 18 at Tara Iti seemed to add to the composition, and just the green contours on the last.

The ones on right are islands (hen and chicks). On left is east coastline of North island, which has headlands jutting out into ocean. Truly beautiful.

Nothing wild but the tee above this parking spot on #5 at Pursell Farms is sick for someone who’s afraid of heights

Half a club, play the knock down

Played somewhere around 50y short of yardage. Was 215 to the front pin.

So yea, this view from Sheep Ranch is pretty amazing.

Slowly getting more comfortable taking my camera out on the course. Planning on taking it more often this spring

I want to be better at it - but I feel like I need to ‘practice’ getting my settings right more quickly so I’m not slowing way down on the course

Especially when you are starting, sticking with aperture will greatly speed things up. It gives you less variables to think about and allows you to focus more on composition instead of camera settings. As you use it more you’ll get better a manipulating shutter speed and iso as well to get the exposure and depth of focus that you want.

This is great, making a note for myself

If you’re shooting players - lean on shutter speed priority. Aperture will auto update (usually to the lowest F stop) and all you’ll have to play with is ISO

Good point. Aperture priority is great for still subjects like landscapes. Shutter priority is better anytime things are moving. I prefer landscapes over pictures with swings in them so I forget about shutter priority sometimes.

#1 @ TR is a world class opening hole tee shot.

It really is! The view looking down to (I think) 7 green and seeing 8 and 9 in the distance was so cool. It’s what I was trying to get in the black and white picture. The anticipation that builds for the holes to come is such an awesome aspect.

Cossposting here from the Darkroom thread.

I was fortunate enough to work at a HS (my alma mater) and connect with the current photo teacher (my photo teacher retired many years ago. The teacher helped me get my lab chops back and i processed the film myself. Im going to set up some time with her to get in the darkroom to make some prints later this month. Im excited.
