Golf and Photography

Does anyone have a favorite photo from Augusta that they have? I’m insanely jealous of some of the photos I see. Here are a few of mine…

These are the ones off the website, right?

They updated that in 2019 and those shots are SO good. Love that they took 'em without patrons so you get a better scale of the land movement around the golf course

I believe so. I downloaded them several years ago. I love the no patrons look. Just adds to the calmness I get when I see this course

And of course they upload this gem today…

Yeah I like that a lot better. Gives 2 defined portions of the image rather than just a blend

I’m somewhat wondering if you could create somewhat of a montage with multiple images of Gary together side by side and have one image from Augusta across his shirts. Could be cool

I’m imagining this:

Think I’m just going to stick with the golf course on this one though…not going to include any brand stuff (yet)

Does anyone in here have any insight on what it takes to get credentialed for an event?

Absolutely.

What would you like to know?

Do I need to be affiliated with a media outlet or can it be done as an independent contractor?

Every event in every sport has been through a media outlet, but as an independent contractor for me.

I’ve reached out to a site to see if they need coverage, and have gotten gigs/credentials that way.
When you go to apply, you’ll have to list your business name/site information…so there’s a better chance of getting credentials with a site OR brand affiliation than without

But some events (see the JDC) let contractors come and shoot the practice rounds for free. So it really does depend on the event.

I was combing through a drive of photos I took at my previous school, and found some shots from when I helped shoot our sports teams. I particularly liked this one:

Cool, this gives me a good starting point. Thanks for the info!

A GREAT starting point are minor league/Korn Ferry events.
Pre-COVID, media passes were relatively easy to obtain, and there’s usually a greater appreciation for the coverage from said events.

I was thinking about trying to shoot the local US Open qualifier as a warm-up!
