Sony a200

Hi guis-
Thinking about grabbing something that offers a little more than a smartphone and I could bring to future trips/kids games/the course etc. My question is if I’m going to get better quality/options than my pixel 3 with this set up or should i keep saving a get a newer model camera.

This account is worth a follow. Some lovely photos of Royal St George’s, Woking, St George’s Hill etc

I have taken some photographs from courses around the world which I would like printed for my golf room. Anyone recommend a company to print them - or even better fine tune and then print them.

I use mpix.com for all my photo printing. Have been happy with the quality and turnaround time.

Newbie to this thread! I wanted a golf camera to keep in my bag so I could stay off my phone. Bought a Chinon auto 3001 after reading some reviews. Loaded it up with Kodak ektar and off to Bandon. Here are a few greatest hits of the week.

Photographers in here, maybe you can help me out.

I am looking to buy a Sony mirrorless full frame camera and can’t decide between 2. I am looking to buy used and am hoping to hit around the $1k-1,500 price point for the body so I’m trying to decide between the A7III and the A7S II (note: not the superior A7S III because it’s still around 3 grand used).

I am mostly a photo shooter but I really want to start getting into videos and I am thinking of starting to shoot some Youtube videos with the camera. I know the A7III is the superior photo camera, but from what I hear the A7S II beats it in the video department.

So if you were me, which would you pick?

Posting this here in case anyone is interested:

ty!

I just picked up a A7III and absolutely love it. From the research and conversations I’ve had with friends in the #content game the A7S is beneficial if you plan on shooting a lot of video - it really excels in low light video situations. If you are just trying to shoot photos, the A7III is going to be a much better choice - can still shoot 4K video with it, its just not a low light beast. Just my 2 cents.

Tried to read through the whole thread… wondering if any experienced shooters out there have a recommendation on their favorite length prime for shooting golf?

Loved riding around with a 70-200 to get some down range shots last week (see shots below), but its totally unrealistic to tote around when walking. Just picked up a 35 f2 that is dreamy, but always looking for an excuse to keep filling the new-ish camera bag.

PS walked 9 tonight and the Sony A7 iii was plenty light enough to bring along, stoked I had it when the light got good.

Yeah, I think I’m going to end up grabbing the A7III next year, thanks for the advice!

I had never used LensRentals before but we just spent a week in Mexico so I used it to rent the Sony 24-105 and that was a great decision. I didn’t realize how cheap it’d be to rent a lens or a camera for a short amount of time. I might even rent the A7III and A7S II for a few days to try them out side by side.

I bought a Fuji X100F a couple years back and really love it for it’s portability. These are a few pics I happen to have on my computer from my dad and my trip to Scotland in 2019. I’ve brought this camera with me on many trips, I just don’t make the effort enough to pull it out and try to capture stuff.

Edit: I can only post two of these. Apparently the other files are too big.:man_shrugging:t2:

I’ve been experimenting with handheld video techniques on my X-T3 and I now understand that the strap plays a fundamental role. So, I bought one of the Peak Design “Slide” straps. It’s brilliant, but the best feature is the ability to use one strap for multiple bodies using the extra clips that come in the pack. I already have one of the PD clips on my golf bag, so expected it to be a well thought out piece of kit, but it’s simplicity just made me smile. Sorry if this sounds like an advertisement, it’s not (unfortunately) I have no affiliation. Just excited to get into video and add more bits and pieces to my bag.

I adore that strap adapter system!

I have, at different times, done a good bit of macro photography, and it’s so nice to be able to get the strap out of the way (I.e. detached) quickly and easily when it’s on a tripod.
