I mean… it’s not like I’m building it for this event. I’ve had it for a long time. And it’s still a blade 2 iron. Please!?!?!

It’s a 12 year old shaft if that matters for anything.

But you don’t need the 2i on this course.

this is also a blade 2i, and I almost bought the matching 1i off ebay this winter but didn’t want to drop 80 bones

put it in the bag and post what you’re playing, we’ll see if you need executive adjustment based on your points otherwise

Starting to get my set together and just want to make sure i had the correct points. Would hate to show up and be wrong about this.
Driver (Ping G2 2004)- 1
FW (Geo George Izett)- 2
Irons (Ping Eye 1979)- 2
Putter (Callaway Hickory Stick Putter)- 3

Going for gold!

Need pictures and/or more detail on the MY to confirm, but in general 90’s irons are going to be 1pt, metalwoods (pre 460cc) are going to be 1pt, wedges need to match the age (or be older than) the irons, and anything with a wood shaft would get credit for hickory status

Any modern club in a category will reset the points of that category to match the newest club therein

I’ll be joining you from the golds!

Post pictures of your gear and we’ll confirm it

My clubs just got to the house!

Are we allowed to reshaft/regrip?

Generally yes, but attempt to be mindful of the era you’re representing with the club.

No counterbalanced pistol 2.0s on a hickory putter or Tensei Black in a persimmon to try to skirt the rules

I have a non weighted Pistol 1.0 in the putter and it feels weird. Would Dynamic 105’s be appropriate for the Ping Eyes? The guys at the PGA superstore looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if they could reshaft a persimmon

The persimmons are better with steel shafts. Leave them alone.

It’s hard to try to give exact specifications on what is within or against the rules. Best I can suggest - post pictures of your gear once it’s finalized, try to stay true to the spirit of the thing (older clubs = more benefit, experience playing the game like players years ago did),and, most importantly, have a day when the event gets here
