Cincinnati golfers

I’m in Hyde Park, have also lived in Mt. Lookout and downtown on 4th St.

Biased, but can vouch for HP/Mt Lookout/Oakley as good spots. Not that convenient to West Chester, but not awful either, especially because the commute should be mostly in the opposite flow of traffic.

Still a lot of traffic getting onto the lateral and 75 N, but it’s manageable.

I live in Hyde Park and we were in Oakley before that. Oakley is a great option for proximity to downtown, not crazy far from her office (it’s a decent drive, but she can get right on the Norwood lateral from 71 to 75 and head north) and there are plenty of young people and things to do.

That said, if you are looking for a golf club, check out Clovernook as @VelvetSteve mentioned and perhaps take that into account. It is a good course that sounds like it will be great after some impending renovation/restoration work. If you are looking to stick with public golf for the time being you will have to drive to most options, but Oakley is close enough to a handful that you can get to.

There is a good contingent of Cincinnati local Refugees and we have a Whatsapp set up to stay in touch from time to time if you would like to join that let me know and I will DM the link.

East Walnut Hills is down the road from Hyde Park and much closer to the city… and cheaper. 3 minute drive to OTR, 5 to Reds Stadium, 6 to Newport Levee.

4 mins to Avon, 15 mins to Reeves, 16 mins to California. Easy access Highways 71, 75 and 471 which are some of the arteries of the city. Walkable Skyline Chili location is a plus too.

Thanks for all the rec’s! She ended up finding a place downtown for a pretty good price so she locked that in. Right beside the ballpark. Unsure when I’ll be moving out but will definitely be looking for people to play once I do!

Awesome! There are a bunch of public courses within a 15 minute drive of downtown and a few pretty accessible private options as well.

Does anyone know of a public driving range that has lights in the area?

Stephens Golf Ranch in Burlington is open until 9 every night. They have a deal on Friday and Saturday nights for all you can hit and drink with Top Tracer for $20.

Does this mean you are now a Cincy resident?

Job in VA is letting me work in Cincy one week a month. So, still looking for full time Cincy work but will be there regularly until I do.

Hello, relatively new here. I am visiting my parents up in Cincy over labor day weekend. Decided to take sticks this time. Any recommendations on courses on the northwest side of town? They live in Liberty Township and I have played Walden Ponds and Beckett Ridge.

Indian Ridge, depending on how far you are willing to drive. It’s in Oxford.

Or Hueston Woods?

Stonelick Hills is around a 40 minute drive from Liberty Township. It would be south east from Liberty township if willing to make the drive it would be well worth it. Shaker Run should be fairly close. At one time one of the better public course in Ohio before falling on hard times. Haven’t played it recently so can’t say what condition it is in.

@tedscott enjoyed Glenview but it has been packed on the weekends. I’ve also heard good things about Heatherwoode up in Springboro.

Co-Sign on Indian Ridge. Continually improving each year I’ve been down at Miami. Generally score 2-4 shots lower than most courses which is nice. Hueston has sadly been on the opposite trajectory.

Play Indian Ridge way before Shaker Run.

Shaker has tons of apartments/condos going in on one of the nines bringing OB into play right of the fairways.

Indian Ridge was in great condition. 43 dollars for a 8 am tee time on holiday weekend can’t be beat. Also, they had a deal on t shirts.

Late to the thread but Miles of Golf also has a lit chipping and putting area until midnight.
