I think this should have been explained at the outset, because in my group we ended up at some point just putting double bogey once we got there. Sometimes that was my most likely, a lot of times not and net double would reflect my actual compliant score for the hole. Had we known these would be posted, we would have kept better score. Now I’ll have a score that is not legit on my sheet, which at the end will never be used as a top 8 but will take up room. I’d rather have accurate scores posted.
And I’m sorta sympathetic to “we should have known” except most of us never compete and don’t view this as something we are really competing in cuz we stink, so we don’t know these things.
Apologies it wasn’t clear. The printed rules sheet denoted not to post scores because we’d be doing so on your behalf. Should’ve provided a bit more clarity on implications and scoring. That’s fair feedback.
I run quite a few tournaments each year through my other club and I followed the same standard we use for those. Will take note for next year. Appreciate the feedback!
As someone who helped put the tournament on, I also didn’t read the rules and submitted my own score on my own, which will now be posted twice. And hopefully neither will ever count. In a field of 72 folks, it’s pretty hard to communicate everything out to everyone - as Heath can tell you, I asked him about five different things that his answer would be, “Well, it WAS in the email I sent you but here’s the answer anyway.” So I definitely understand the confusion. A good note for next year.
Yea takes two seconds. I’ve posted tourney scores before after waiting days thinking they would post, then of course they do right after I did. Pro at my course removed it no prob.
Truly rub(s) of the green for Ben on this hole. It was hole12. Hit a decent drive, but it caught a tree limb on the left- from the blacks the tree chute is narrow. Had 240 plus into the wind. Smokes his shot and then finds this lie in the bunker 20 yards left of the green - and it was on a side slope too. How the ball got stuck there is mind bending.
The 2nd NLUer in a row to reside in the TC Suite and find a creative use of the facilities. Keep the Streak Alive!!
And just a huge thanks to all who attended, I got the chance to meet, and I got to share some golf with. Just a great group.
Of course, huge thanks ti @tron and @sundaybag for all they do.
The biggest of thanks to @greebs, @hwb, and @GremlinGolfer for setting this thing up! I’m sure I’m forgetting someone, please forgive… I’m at a bar again (want to be home) getting ready for R Bars 19 year anniversary party tonight.
Had a blast hanging with you guys at McNally’s and Im looking forward to all the craic we can drum up at the next event. Maybe next year if your lucky I could probably puke in the flop house to round out the hat trick.
Every time I drive down from Sac to play with this crew i’m left saying, “can’t wait to do that again.” Well worth the four hours in the car and the complete waste of a monday work day. Cheers gents.
I just wanted to thank everyone involved in this event and the special people who were in charge!
I absolutely enjoyed my time, even if my game didn’t travel. Big shout out to Nick, Reid, and Craig for being the best playing partners.
