Alright if you played last year please fill in your info on the appropriate tab. I will make the bracket closer to Mudness once we have our participants. I will tag everyone in post to remind everyone they can sign up. Anyone that doesn’t sign up within a week loses their guaranteed spot once I make it open to everyone else.
CC to remind everyone to sign up for a match play spot if they want it. Remember, you MUST be playing March Mudness so we can get the first round knocked out quickly.
Second round must be played by 5/1
Third round by 6/1
Fourth by 7/1
Championship by 8/1.
Sorry but I can’t commit to mudness yet so guess I’m out. Also have no clue what the Roost is. I’ve been pretty MIA here lately. Too much goin on at home with second kid on the way and work and hormonal wife and all. Enjoy.
First of all I would like to thank Sydney Marovitz for playing host to the 20?? matchplay championship. And shoutout to the breakfast ball crew and the other sickos that came out today despite the gale force wind warning.
@TeddyPargame had me rattled out of the gates as he is sitting middle of the fair while I’m stuck in the trees. Down 1. Similar story on 2 except the difference is made on the green. All Square. Neither of us sniff the green on 3 but I think pargame’s miss left brought back memories of his encounter with the ranger. Up 1. Trend of me being in the left trees continues on 4. All square. Neither of had the advantage on 5 but pargame made a putt that mattered. Down 1. No on wanted to take 6 as it took me a couple tries out of the bunker but ultimately the false front on 6 claimed another victim. All square. As this point I think you the reader know where we stand off the tee 6 (me left trees and pargame in the middle). After a little scrambling it came down to the flatsick. Down 1 with 2 to go. Left miss has been working for me all day so pargame gave it a try and got a great bounce to the middle of the fairway. Gamers game. The difference here was pargame’s speed is now starting to show up and airmails the green while I’m sitting 10 feet for birdie. All Square 1 to go. Yup you guessed it, I absolutely pipe one down the middle and so does pargame. He misses the green left and I find the green with 20 feet to go. A bad putt and a nervous 3 footer later I claim victory. 1 up.
As a Purdue alumn I would like to honor the tradition and lose my very next match after finally getting the #1 ranking. Any takers?
Warning: @TeddyPargame is developing speed. Lookout.
Couldn’t imagine a better way to spend a Saturday in December!
Taking it to the final hole with a small group of onlookers was good fun. Certainly affected my flop shot on 9 — I was nervous about blading it onto the softball fields.
Should have been a bit more aggressive there to hit it higher and land it softer.
Advancing to the championship is something I’ll hold on to. I didn’t make it this far in my dreams.
See you in next years championship in 2025, @TheAbeFroman
Looks like our regional tournament has to be done by early August 2022, which means ideally the match play tournament is concluded in mid to late July. Everyone signed up is pretty active in our main thread and plays a lot with other guys so I have cautious optimism we can have all matches completed on time.
