I believe November 14th is the last day of the season.
HCC is definitely worth playing if you have time. I would try and play the West Course which is the old course. Itās shorter, lots of trees and can be narrow at times.
As resident straight-hitting poofer of the Refuge, shoot that right in my veins.
The West course also hosted the 1940 PGA Championship, and over the years a PGA Tour event, LPGA event, and Nationwide Tour event. Plus Ben Hogan was the Head Pro during the 40s. So a lot of history in that course.
Anyone active fun central? In bloomsburg for work.
Anyone have a connection at the country club of Scranton? My dad grew up in Scranton playing all the goat tracks and has always dreamed of playing it. He recently retired and Iād love to get out there with him if possible. Might not be this summer since my wife and I are expecting our first child in a few weeks, but might be able to get out in the fall or next summer.
The Member For A Day website currently has an auction going which includes a round there. Hope you find an alternative (cheaper) way to experience the course.
Anybody in here play Foxchase often? I live in Denver (PA of course) and looking for somebody to join me from time to time
I have played it once. So, not often, lol. But, Iād be happy to tee it up sometime this summer.
I play it time to time. Feel free to reach out.
Looking to possibly get a lesson in the Philly/Lancaster/Berks County area. I have gotten an iron lesson at Sittler Golf from Anthony Schweppe which was nice, but looking to broaden my reach a little. I have heard good things about Tobiason at Deerfield, but wanted to reach out here to see if anybody had any recs. Specifically looking to get a driver lesson if that would change any recommendations. Also looking for somebody who isnāt going to reconfigure my entire swing.
Heading down to Hazelton Monday until Friday. Could play Monday or t/w/t in the afternoon probably. Any recs or anyone got any plans and openings in the area.
Only course in that area I have played was Sugarloaf. Would recommend. Has always been in great shape.
edit: Also it looks like Jack Frost National isnāt too far either. That place is really nice, but also very tight tree lines.
My co workers are members at valley so probably get a round in there once.
If anyone in Central PA doesnāt mind a bit of a drive. Fun 36-hole day planned in a couple weeks. I got over my skis as usual and booked too many times. Calling Monday to give back any unused timesā¦
Dauphin County golf course could be sold for data warehouse space
What a bummer! This is an awesome public track
This would be a huge bummer. I usually play here a few times a year.
My brother and I are planning a bros weekend in State College this summer and I wanted to get suggestions for courses nearby. I played the Blue Course on campus years ago and remember it being meh. Iāve heard the White has had work done in recent years and has improved.
Any other courses nearby worth considering? I noticed that the old Elks club has been rebranded as Mountain View and is public. Might need to give that a try. And if anyone is a member or has connections to get on Centre Hills weād gladly pay the guest fees to check it out.
Only hard no is Toftrees. Not a fan for several reasons.
Cheers!
If you are willing to drive a little, Sinking Valley golf club is a great choice in Altoona.
