Fescue should not be grown in yet, so that helps, but expect to lose more balls than usual. Just hard to find them.
I would be in on this!
RM was wide open this weekend. Played a nice three hour round and was glad the fescue was down. Took driver off of every hole possible and took advantage of being able to spray the ball.
Hey all! Iāll be heading up to our cabin in McClure this weekend and hoping to sneak in a round on Friday. Options are pretty slim. Other than the Penn State courses, should I be looking anywhere else. Thanks.
Iām not overly familiar with that area, but I donāt think there is much close. Bucknell has a fun course over in Lewisburg.
If youāre willing to go to the PSU area there is Skytop which is a cheap option that is fun, challenging, and an amazing value. Super tight though, so bring an extra sleeve or two. Toftrees is also out there. Real nice course, but you pay for it.
Thanks everyone for the recs!
Played there last year. Nothing special, but itās enough to scratch the it.
Ah. Grew up on this course. Love playing it when I get home every summer. Spent almost every day in the summers there in middle school. My dad still is a member there and plays way more golf than me.
I only played it once in a tournament. Half the round was in a downpour, so I donāt remember a lot, but what I do remember having fun and enjoying the course. I remember feeling awkward on the shot you have to hit over the road. I was sure I was going to thin one just as a car came around the corner.
#3. Yeah super long par-5 down the hill and then back up. That hole kills me every single time.
My college team (I coach Penn-State Behrend), recent (yesterday!) winners of our conference championship and winners of the automatic qualifier spot to NCAA Nationals in May, will be playing in the Mt. Aloysius tournament on April 24 at Summit Country Club.
Weāve played there the past five years, so weāre pretty familiar with the course. We were at Sinking Valley a week ago.
I know its a little late, but Scotch Valley in Altoona is a must play in my opinion. Not overly long but beautiful and challenging in a way that makes you think. Give it a shot next time if its not too far of a drive!
Officially landed in Lancaster this past weekend! Driving a 26ā uhaul isnāt as bad as it sounds.
A bit of a late notice, but I am getting my first taste of central PA golf tomorrow at Iron Valley. My brother in law and I have a 9:50 tee time with two spots still available if anyone wants to jump in. If not, I hope to meet up with some of you guis soon.
Welcome!
Tomorrow does not work for me, but would love to do a round sometime soon!
Thanks! I will take you up on that. My brother in law is my only golfing partner and he is about to leave to run a summer camp in NJ, so looking to find others to play.
Anyone interested in joining me on a stroll through Overlook on Saturday morning at 7 am? I was just trying to see if I would have to pay upfront or not and clicked too far and ended up booking it by accident. I could also be talked out of it to play somewhere else if someone has an opening.
I may be interested. My clubs are supposed to get shipped in today so as long as they get here, Iād join up
That would be awesome! I have no idea who the other two are we would be playing with lol. Just let me know if you can end up making it.
Will do!
I would love to, but will be working
