I am interested in this as well. Would want to bring the sunday bag if I’m definitely carrying. I might do that anyway for the vibes.
Hold please…I am going to get that answer right now.
Say some idiot (me) was thinking about bringing hickories or persimmons instead of his normal clubs. Is BCC a course where that could be enjoyable?
What tees are y’all playing? With how wet its been, not much roll to be had I’m sure, and makes a tough test tougher. Thinking mainly the 2nd hole, beast of a par 4 to a perched green.
Some of the par 4s (1, 2, and 16 in particular) might be tough especially if you aren’t going to get much roll. Depends on what your average is off the tee.
Blue tees
Yes, it’s quite playable with vintage clubs.
Add #5 to the list of gut punches with a persimmon/hickories
You guys are killing me! I can’t believe this awesome event is happening practically in my backyard and I can’t be there. I hope you all have a ton of fun and save some merch for me to buy!
Yeah, not too bad on average but that’s a handful of tough holes when the top of my hickory bag is basically a modern hybrid and a 5 iron.
Do it. Do it now!
The idea of playing the hickories from the golds/whites would be awesome. Howeva, in terms of enjoying the heck out of it for a single round (which tbh im sure you would either way), I’d opt for the modern stuff, it’s already a super stern test.
~6,700 with nothing rolling out, par 70 rated 3 over par sounds like a death march
@JohnnyPanton is out here for the Schadenfreude
@JohnnyPanton and I have played a lot of classic clubs golf together, so definitely a bit of schadenfreude haha
Outside pushcarts are not allowed but the course has plenty to borrow. I also just made arrangements for additional carts to be available should any of you walkers decide that you’d like a taxi instead.
Either way, I’ll be missing out anyways, so enjoy it however you see fit while i bang my head into my desk for the next 72 hours for not signing up…
Which brings up my next question for @Privatecollection , is there any sort of formal sign up or anything for the Mobtown “event” at night? Or just come and go as you please?
I’ve played BCC a few times with modern clubs. But I would have more fun playing it with the vintage stuff.
For sure:
@CDevlin will Zim be making an appearance?
You just come as you please, my friend between 6:30 and 8:30.
Related: Did you see Tron’s note about Saturday’s meetup at the tournament? It’s open to Nest members, as long as you sign up. Maybe that could help the FOMO as well?
Thanks!! I’ll certainly be making the walk over then
I did, but unfortunately, I’ve only got tickets for Sunday, so Mobtown will have to do it!
@SeymourByrdees did a great job of gathering up some Baltimore locals to play and such, in case if anyone else around is looking to continue to #getinvolved in the area following this weekend
