BMW Drive for the Cup: Baltimore - Aug 27-28 Registration is LIVE, details around post 171

I doubt we’ll see firm and fast until January when the ground freezes.

Shameful confession time: I’ve never played quota. Just not particularly popular at my club.

I feel like that was going to happen anyway.

but what about the other three rounds?

Don’t worry, neither have I, and at my current rate of recovery I will be playing with a walking boot on Friday so you won’t have to worry about embarrassment.

I just posted a quota format sample on the event website. Hopefully, it helps give you an idea of how it’s played.

I got your back!

Just got my week-of PTO clearances and I’m officially locked in. See y’all on Friday! Can’t wait.

Potentially dumb question about the format: since the East Course is a par 70, is the quota 36 minus your handicap or 35 minus your handicap?

I realize it makes no difference as long as everyone is starting with the same number, just curious since I’m putting together a buddies trip right now and think we’re going to play quota.

I assume it’s still 36 because that comes from value of par (2 points) x 18 holes, rather than course par / 2.

See I knew it was a dumb question. Thank you.

Doesn’t seem like a dumb question to me. The number 36 could very easily be tied to 18 or 72. I was just trying to provide the reason for my answer.

Also, I don’t think it would really matter because you would just be adding or subtracting from everyone’s relative (-2, 0, +3, whatever) score equally. So I think you could choose any number as long as you are correctly adjusting for everyone’s handicap adjusted quota.

@Privatecollection wondering if we are walking or riding on Friday? Fine with either but just trying to plan ahead.

Very much looking forward to getting out and meeting lots of new people and playing some golf Friday!

Almost went on the IR yesterday trying to carry too many things out of the attic. Was coming down the ladder with way too much in my arms and had two steps to go. Then one of my dogs ran under me and the weight in my arms shifted and I had to bail out but also jump over my dog. All my weight on one leg - but stuck the landing. Knee started throbbing after but eventually subsided. Close call.

I may or may not be stealing my offices pair of NormaTecs recovery sleeves for this weekend so I got you on some rehab.
