Unfortunately for me driver directly into the trees was not the right play.
Neither was 6 iron to the landing area, then topping a 3 wood into the creek.
Went 4iron, nutted 4 iron to 20 ft, 3 putt bogeyā¦
My turnā¦
- jbrooks and Snellspace - Hell of a job getting everything arranged and folks organized.
- desertduffer and BaxterMSP - Thanks for having fake internet beef so that we could do this!
- @anon24718094 - Sweet collab on the yardage books and Iām so thankful that you turned an idea that you had for yourself into a commitment to the rest of the group. I know those were long hours as we swapped plans a few times and that led to re-work. They came out amazing.
- @JMcColm - You sir are a fine gentleman. I enjoyed our lopsided match quite a bit. I would have liked it better if you didnāt run off a string of four pars to start the day while I was still trying to determine which end of the club to hold.
- @the_korn_ferry - your timely and accurate @ClubProGuy references made the weekend for me! āDO YOU NEED TO SEE THAT?ā Also, you hit the ball a country mile. Iāve never been in the roll-back-the-ball camp but Iām considering it. Your setup looks like youāre about to tap on the gate to let the bull out and try to hang on.
- @Chums - Youāre a hell of a dude and I wish you well. Iāve never been asked to describe the greenside bunkers while standing on the tee box before but between you and @the_korn_ferry youāve opened my eyes. I particularly liked how you kept telling @JMcColm every time that we caught up to his group at The Quarry that I was striping it and under par.
- @dbybel - Iām all fired up about playing in Scotland and Ireland now after our several conversations on the topic. Weāve got to find a way. Sorry I bailed on your during the par 3 course!
- JoshBres - Weāre all very fortunate that the timing worked out for you to be here in time for the duel.
- imsocrabby - You were the spirit animal of this entire thread and the weekend. Thank you for the golf balls!
- @Lazstradamus - Iām so glad that I got to look you in the eye and say thanks for the Oregon Trail thread. That was hours and hours of entertainment and several belly laughs! Thank you for making the trip.
- @bmb430 - I let you borrow my extra push cart so technically I expect a caddieās share of the winnings. El Tucan would like a little something, you know, for the effort.
- @jbpayne32 - Could you be the ripped version of Zach Johnson? If he turns into an action movie guy and needs a double, youāll be banking.
- The Sunday TPC crew - (Hala-Mark-Rey, dbybel, ajsHTX, anotherballromes, RobertHunter, DuckDuckHook, JoshBres) thanks for visiting ejection city! We had another awesome day of weather.
- SaveMuny - Youāre the quiet assassin. You ho-hummed your way around the track and never gave us any breathing room. You should try a blow-up hole. They can be fun. And speaking of whichā¦
- Brackenridge - You gave me two birdies and a 10 on the same nine. Iām not going to pretend that doesnāt hurt. But Iāll be seeing you again.
I tip my hat to all of you. Thank you for visiting our city and squeezing so much entertainment into just a few days.
Thanks for all you did this weekend @cgroom! The wedges were so good and all the local recommendations were appreciated by all. I do have an issue with this statement though:
This guy wore a DALLAS āSTARSā jersey to the Par 3, knowing damn well one of this weekendās primary participants does not recognize the theft of the Minnesota North Stars. Are we sure heās not actually Norm Greenās grandson?
Okay, okay. Youāre right. Heās a āfine gentlemanā with a scummy streak. I was going to leave that out but since weāre going thereā¦
After being in Stephen Ames territory I start making a comeback that should have given him some concern. Instead he broke out the persimmon wood off the tee. How disrespectful is that?
Wow. Thatās next level disrespectful. Similar to @anon47037505 outdriving me with my own club on #11.
Quick burying the lead and walk us through the 10.
High Gross and High Net has to earn some sort of award, right? Think we need to track that metric across the other qualifiers, feeling pretty good about my chances to keep that crown. Woof.
That would easily be me, if I had attempted to qualify.
Some days you just donāt got it.
nor was my 7 iron around the tree, 4 iron into the trees option
I feel that
Iām gonna need mini Brysonās name so I can be the first heckler ever kicked out of an under 10 boys golf tournament.
16 hole with the stupid tree. Lost my first ball when we didnāt see which direction it flew after it hit the tree. Tried it again and hit the tree much more squarely the second time. The rest was a blur.
To everyone I played with this weekend, I appreciate keeping the left handed jokes to a minimum after the fist tee. Very respectful!
Brackenridge is the Mutombu of golf courses.
