My dad calls it Bee Caves, it drives me crazy.
Mo Willie needs more attention but I may be biased.
2222 up near Four Points/Steiner Ranch is a death trap. God I don’t know how people live up there and deal with the traffic (I did it for two years).
I’m down with Mo Willy. Actually before Lions.
#savemuny!
I worked at WAYA in school…honestly didnt play Lions much…but spent a heck of a lot of time right next door.
Played my personal best round at Mo Willy on a nice fall evening. I always enjoyed seeing the sunset over the city from the high point on the course.
Fun fact: The first ever Patrick Reed Scholarship Award from the Team Reed foundation went to a kid who plays out of Mo Willy. Super nice kid who hits it incredibly straight.
Can we reminisce on the loss of Bluebonnet? That place was a mainstay in my muni rotation
I’d agree with you on the Trailer Park (too much going on, especially if you get it “Trashy”). I typically go corn tortillas. Yes, the queso is top notch.
I was sort of in denial, thinking something would happen to save it. Guess I was wrong. RIP some of the most consistent public greens in town.
I agree with that. #5 fairway or #8 tee box?
The one thing I like least about Mo Willy is watching the sun set over the driving range. It’s almost unusable in the late afternoon most of the year.
Didn’t matter to me but I do like 5 fairway
What kind of shape was it in? Trying to take a day trip up there in a few weeks
Greens were pretty soft, but rolling amazing. For the winter we’ve had I would say it’s in fantastic shape.
I don’t get the love for Lions. Always thought Riverside was a way better golden age Austin golf course.
Wasn’t sure whether to put this in Professional Networking thread or here, but my fiancee and I are looking to move back to Texas from LA in the near future, ideally in the DFW or Austin areas. With that being said, I’m starting to look for a new job that would spark the move.
My background has been in the tech space (both startups and large corporations), primarily SaaS-based, in the construction, energy, and automotive industries in customer facing roles ranging from account management, implementation, pre-sales, BD, customer success, etc.
Just thought I’d see if anyone in the refuge knew or heard about any opportunities or companies that might be worth looking into.
Edit: I’m not necessarily married to the roles/industries I’ve previously worked in. Open for anything exciting.
Not extremely. Have really been in positions more focused on relationship management: training end users on how to use to app, ensure renewals, expand to other products. Moreso acting as a liaison of sorts between clients and the product team as opposed to actual development.
Some of the kids in Steiner have to leave their houses at 7:15 to get to our school on time. We start at 8:40.
This is wild to me. I grew up in Steiner, went to Cedar Park HS before Vandy opened, and it never took me more than 20 minutes to get to school.
Bump. DFW people, looking for a Sunday game. This is not a drill!
I’m at Vandy now and it is DISGUSTING the amounts of traffic we have coming in and out the school alone. Thankfully, the golf team gets last period off, but when I have to stay for testing, it takes my bus 45 minutes to get to my stop. And I’m not in Steiner.
