Hello Texas! I’ll be in Austin and Fredericksburg from 10/22-31. Hoping to play once on the 25/26 somewhere in the area. I’ve seen a few recommendations for the munis in Fredericksburg (leaning toward Lady Bird at the moment), but I’m also curious about any refugees who might have a connection at boot ranch. Any other advice or tips on things to do in the area would also be welcomed!

Played at Butler Park Pitch and Putt a couple weeks ago and it was an absolute delight. If you’re playing as a single, just ask the group on the tee if you can jump in with them.
This was a quick trip to Austin so I didn’t have time to play Muni, but it’s on the agenda next time I’m in town.

Just an update - I won’t be traveling with my clubs and likely won’t have time to play as my itinerary has been hijacked by trips to Waco, San Antonio and some horseback riding thing. I’ll have to try to get back there again to play sometime!

Tell me about it. My sister wants to be Joanna and talks incessantly about them. Bought us their book for Christmas a couple years ago. I’m not sure if I’m ready for it to be quite honest. At least it will just be my wife and I, so if I hate it, she can tell me to suck it up and deal, and I’ll have to comply.

I’m pretty pumped to see FW show out. We’ve never had elite bbq and then all of a sudden, 2 places in the top 10

I lived a block away from the Waco Fuego and got the chips and queso every other night it felt like. It’s really good.

I’ve always thought Heim was overrated, it’s kind of sweet, yuppie bbq. But I’m ready fill up my weekends with these other joints. What’s shocking is that I haven’t even heard of 3 out of the 4 FW places.
I don’t know if I would consider Goldee’s Ft. Worth. It’s basically in Mansfield
It’s nouveau for sure, but it’s still good. And I’ve always gotten a good vibe from the folks that run the place and the people that work there. I’ve gone to the Dallas location across from Love Field a couple times out of convenience and it was solid too.
