So @GRWhitehead and I have been looking at putting together a gathering for the Friday before the North Star Shootout, and wanted to gauge people’s interest.
We’re looking at Falling Knife Brewing as a potential venue, as unfortunately Guy’s new distillery space won’t be ready in time due to government moving with the urgency of the sloth from Disney’s Zootopia.
Preliminarily I’ve discussed with them a group of 20-30 people. The room rental would be $200 and the minimum beer order would be $400. I’ll cover the room rental as a donation to the event, but I’ll need you guys to drink $400 in beer. With this group I doubt that’ll be a problem but figured I’d mention it to be safe. If we’ve got enough people I’ll put down the deposit for the event!
So answer the poll if you’re interested in getting together and drinking one of the two best beers (the other being HeadFlyer) in Minneapolis the night before the big event. I’m looking at booking a space from 7-10, thinking it could be a drop-in affair and people could come and go as they please. I’m using the poll to judge how big an area we’d need to reserve. Also, comment if you think we should tweak the timeframe?

Have any out-of-towners started looking into accommodations for Friday/Saturday night yet? The Airbnb scene looks pretty sparse unless you get more downtown. @Waldorf98 and I were looking into it, but we weren’t sure if there was enough interest to go that route or if we would be better off booking a hotel closer to the course.

@BaxterMSP - Um, somehow I blanked on the actual signing-up part and just assumed last years entry covered this year, too, even though that would be stupid. Scummy.
Would love to be proud #17 or whatever on the waitlist and hope I can still be alive to make the Final Four of the match play to make it that way. I just want the opportunity to eject on #16…
