We’re fine
Go Phil!
Babe, wake up. US Open thread part three just dropped
This thread has nothing to do with the US Open anymore
You have nothing to do with the US Open anymore
That’s @OffTheDole ’s line!
I am so proud of how I’ve single-handedly raised the quality of the discourse on this blog.
That’s why you’re our mod
We’re on a rollercoaster that only goes up
Had a conversation on Tuesday with a new colleague at work that just moved to the area and loves to golf. Told him about the Refuge and the community center being a great place to meet like-minded golf sickos to get out with. I’ve spent the last 48 hours worried this poor guy is gonna be like “I like golf. I liked the US Open, let me see what this thread is all about.”
Really enjoyed the Bryson discourse on the Happy Hour pod as a post-mortem on the Open a few days later.
Highly recommend that listen as a good evaluation of viewpoints on him across the board.
The one thing they missed (IMO) is the effect on him of his Dad passing away. Which, given a few months for grieving, coincides with the outward changes he’s shown.
Yes! Back behind the paywall. Fight Club is once again safe. His name was Rory Mcilroy. His name was Rory McIlroy. His name….
I thought it was weird that there was no end of talk about Wyndham Clark’s mom passing 11 years ago but Bryson’s father passing was kind of ho-hum.
I just think that with Bryson here was lots of other stuff to talk about and with Wydham … that was pretty much the only thing anyone had.
They also made it a pretty big part of his story on Full Swing and, IIRC, people generally enjoyed seeing him open up and talk about it. I’d hope that if it’s something Bryson wants to talk about, he gets the opportunity. For better or worse, he’d be a lot more interesting to see than Fitzpatrick 3.0.
I think there is a massive difference between losing a parent as a teenager in college and losing a parent as an adult after you already had won a major.
