Going to his kid’s graduation
Edit: It’s for a high school graduation so
Went home for a graduation. Will be back tomorrow
As a former kid and high school graduate, I would have been fully in support of my father skipping a boring ass ceremony if it meant caddying for a generational talent whose likely victory was going to net the family hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Daddy could buy me that Toyota Land Cruiser I always wanted as a makeup gift for missing my graduation.
These things are always easier to judge in retrospect. In the moment, Jeff would have had no idea why Scottie was being arrested/cuffed. For all he knew in that moment, Scottie was wanted for running down a pedestrian or for murder that morning. Jeff intervenes in that situation and he almost certainly gets arrested too by a hot head cop.
Would’ve truly been a pick 6 on the boring narrative by Scottie
They always say the best way to evaluate a man’s character is to play golf or pickup basketball with him. If they’re honest on the court/course, they probably will be in life. But if they are a scumbag on the court/course……
As a parent, each kid is different, especially if you’ve missed a lot of other stuff due to traveling, the kid might want you there.
With the standard payout hasn’t Ted already made a couple million this year? I would rather have my dad at my graduation
Y’all are soft. Shout out to my #grindsetmindset idol @carrybagswag for not leaving cash on the table for some meaningless ceremony.
“Yo, Pops, go get that bag and then take Scott to LIV, I wanna meet Paulina and Jenna, dawg.”
As a current parent of kids approaching high school, I’m glad to see someone in a somewhat public position standing up to show your personal life is more important than your job. I’ve missed enough of my kids stuff because work thought it was too important to miss. It’s a stupid #grind mentality we have.
I’m pretty sure Ted’s still getting paid for this week
Yup. Fuck that, cold hard cash pays for college buddy. Daddy needs to work.
Manager at my previous job told me my job should be the most important thing in my life because she was annoyed I took a work call in the car so I could drop my kids at school. I applied to my current job that night, and if I remember correctly, she doesn’t have a relationship with her kids.
A lot of boss bootlicking going on this morning. I think a rich white dude getting unfairly arrested has broken everyone’s brain. No one knows whose boots to lick anymore!
Right up there with “we’re not a company, we’re a family” in the business red flags
What if the chaplain gives Scottie distances in cubits or palms to be more biblically accurate?
I quit my last job because of how they disrespected my commitment to my family and their wellbeing. Easiest decision I’ve ever made.
I’ll make jokes that Ted shouldn’t abandon his guy who’s out on bail. But good on Ted for keeping it real that family matters.
My son was born sept 3 (a bunch of years ago). My wife was a teacher at the time. So that meant when she went back to work, she had no leave for the rest of the school year. That meant I was the one taking the kids to every doctor appointment. One day I went to my boss at the time and told him I needed to WFH the next day because my kid had a doctors appointment. He denied it because “you’ve been taking your kids to the doctor a lot the last couple months.” I said, yeah, that happens with 2 under 2 and couldn’t WFH I was taking PTO (that he couldn’t deny because his boss wouldn’t back him) and that the project he wanted done by the end of the week wouldn’t be done. He quickly changed his mind and I found a new job.
