He was a whiny bitch then. Not much has changed.

No we are wondering which hole you’re going to ace, Ace.

I’m saving it for a WA State event. I’ve currently got the PNGA flag & USGA flag for holes in one. The guy who runs the events across the state told me after the USGA one that he isn’t sure there is another player that has a HIO in all 3 of the major series in the state.

“Thanks Nate, now I’ll never hit the green on any par 3 in a state event because its all I’ll be thinking about” lol

Anybody have brands/recommendations for yardage book covers?

I’ve got one from college that’s a sunfish that’s held up for like 10 years at this point.

Same here, I’ve heard really good things about TinBox Partners before, but don’t have one myself

No recommendations but if you are, uh, perspiration-inclined, be wary of the pure/real leather options.

I wish that was the case. The only big qualifying I have done was in 2022. I attempted a US Open local at Fox Den in TN. Show up and I’m paired with John Augenstein. Luckily he couldn’t have been a nicer guy. Cruising on the first few holes then snipe a tree branch and get thrown out of bounds. Rake in my triple on the hole and start reeling with 6 straight bogeys. Turn with a 44 on the front, but finished with a respectable 1 over on the back for my 81. Didn’t help that I didn’t play a practice round on a course I had never seen before. Our Mid Am isn’t big enough to do qualifying and our State Am is a college and high school golf extravaganza. Kid from my club set the record of winning as the youngest at 15 a few years ago, Tyler Watts. I have wanted to give it a try again every once in a while, but with kiddo #1 on the way in August it isn’t looking too promising.

No surprise at all given your IG content from the gym. The gremlin gets after it.

Also you just needed a celsius at the turn

Lol hold on, I think I was your third in that group. I remember playing the qualifier at Fox Den that year with John and he bogeyed 18 to shoot 69 and got through in a playoff.

Zero idea what I shot but I wasn’t competitive is all I can remember.

I volunteered at a college tourney and watched him hit range balls for an hour. I was in awe. Agree on the friendliness too. Super respectful. Lots of thank yous and appreciate your time from him.

I really enjoyed the competitive (net) golf I’ve played so far this year. Considering signing up for the San Diego City Amateur if I’m still under the handicap cutoff by the time the deadline rolls around (first week of June). Currently under the cutoff by 0.4

I should go practice my putting.

Yeah you had the NLU sticker on the pushcart. You told me you were stepping away for a bit. I had not gotten involved yet. We also made the turn and just tried to stay out of his way.

One of the most impressive ballstriking rounds of golf I’ve ever seen anyone play.

I just looked back deeper into this thread, and I actually had a recap of the round. He “missed” all of two shots.

And on top of all that, he carried his own damn bag! At Fox Den!

I’ve got a sunfish driver headcover we got my senior year of college (2017) and it’s still in great shape

First round over - for sure at the hardest course in the rota. Think Sahalee, but maybe tighter.

Wind was just enough to keep you guessing and greens mega firm, barely fixed any ball marks. This is a course you definitely can play yourself out of the tournament on day one.

+2. Double bogey on the par 3 18th (you can have the greatest process in the world, but you still have to execute and sometimes you just make a god-awful swing)

Proud of the way I battled and I’m definitely still in this thing.

There are some absolute studs in the field, lots of D1 and upper tier D2 players, several previous winners, and no one got to under par today.
