Looking to play in some comps. Probably going to register for some OGA events, but I’m not sure if you have to be a member of an affiliated club to be eligible (which I am not). I’ve been reading up on GolfWeek Amateur Tour which sounds interesting. But I would like to compete in at least 1 competitive event per month starting in May.
I’ll bite. Looking at US Am Q, US Open Q, NC Am (hooray for exemptions), North South Am, NC Match Play, Carolinas Am, Some PGA and KF Tour Monday Q’s, and maybe the Players Am cause Berkeley Hall is a dope course. That’s kind of a starting point for building next years schedule, as for why i play in these I think that has been aggressively documented (see micro-refuge explosion from like 1 month ago).
First tourney of 2020 signed up for. The San Francisco City Am. A legendary tourney with all kinds of stories.
Few rounds of qualifying at Harding Park and Lincoln Park then cut to 32 for match play at Harding park. All on weekends over the course of five weeks. Been a few years since I’ve played but seeing as how a major will be held there in a few months I had to sign up.
First hole at Lincoln Park. It’s a dump. But it’s our dump.
I started back playing in tournaments last year because it’s fun to try to play golf when I can’t feel my face.
State Am and Mid Am, some state PGA events that allow amateurs this year.
Is the State Am at Victoria National this year? The first time I played there was the State Am when I was in 8th grade. Needless to say, I didn’t make the cut.
Annually, I plan to play in 5 or 6 events and it always ends up being only being 1 or 2 events with little to no practice and I embarrass myself! Looking forward to doing it again in 2020. Looking forward to the Colorado Four-Ball, Nebraska stroke play, Nebraska Mid-Am, a couple of Nebraska or Colorado point tournaments and the USGA Four-Ball qualifier.
